Runs on choke,why?

The engine is running on choke because the jets are probably clogged in the carburetors. Some of the newer carburators have very little in the way of adjustment and it is usually cheaper to replace the whole carbthan to try and fix it. Tip : Always use premium gas with no ethanol in any small engine. Ethanol blend gas has ruined more small engines than I can remember. Especially ones that sit for an extended period of time ( like a snow blower). I also recommend add Stabil or Seafoam or any good quality fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank of all small engines. Hope this helps.

I have a Craftsman Snow Thrower model # 247.881731. At the end of last year I drained the gas as recommended in the manual, this year I filled it with fresh gas and it now has a problem starting. I pu

Draining the gas from the tank doesn't drain the float bowl in the carburetor. It still had last year's gas in it. Gas will start to turn to varnish if left sitting 6 to 12 months. You'll probably have to remove the carburetor, disassemble it and clean it out with Gumout carb cleaner or some similar product. When you get it running and the snow's over and done with, put some Stabil in the gas tank to prevent the gas from converting to varnish and then start it up and run it until that stabilized gas is through the carburetor and into the engine. You can leave it with the treated gas in the tank.

Check oil level on 26" snowblower

There is no difference. It just takes a little longer if you screw down the cap. If your level is correct screwing cap in should not change results more than about 1/16 of an inch. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Why does a flame come out of the carburetor when I try to start it

Hard to answer this not enough information..one thing I can say is your carb the is flooding the cylinder with excess gas..and when the spark ignites it is sending the burning gas back into the intake and back through the carb where the air gas mixture comes in...timing could be a problem where the intake valve is still open on the fireing stroke..another could be the internal float stuck in the carb...this allows gas to leak back into the cylinders and intake manifold..before doing anything..need to check a few things out..some of these newer carbs have an electric valve on the bottom of the carb. Is there to keep the gas from leaking out on the ground when the float is stuck..however it does allow the gas to leak back and into your engine..and cylinder..and when you try and start it will throw flames back through the carb...but it also may fill you engine crankcase with gas...and damaging the engine sofirst thing check your oil for gas smell and on the stick..drain it if it does..pull your plug and cover the end so it can't spark..and turn the motor over if the cylinders have gas they will Blow it out.."" The reason to cover the sparkplug end" . NOTE....this is an ongoing problem with this engine type so after you follow the ustructions,,,if not already on the gas line get a inline gas shut off valve and put it on the gas line and make sure it is OFF when you are done mowing or when the engine us not running..This will happen again if not done...change the filter and oil and you are good to go..By the way I know this fro my own experience with these new carp leak protectors..pass the word....if this is not the problem carb will need to be rebuilt..or renewed.....good luck.

"04husqvarna snow blower engine lh358sa"

To know for sure you need to test the battery and the solenoid but first reach under the motor and turn the shaft and make sure the motor turns. You can do both at the solenoid First check to see how many volts are coming in to the solenoid then engage the start switch and check to see how many are coming out. then go to the starter and check the cable by testing the voltage at the lug going into the starter. Make sure your starter bolts are tight. If they are not remove the starter and clean where the starter contacts the motor if necessary. If all this checks out and you receive a little more than 12 volts. then it is probably going to be your bendix drive. This is usually a system of two interlacing gears where one travels up other elevating the the starter interlock gear to the fly wheel. First is it traveling up to the fly wheel gear engaging but the shaft is spinning inside the gear. Or is it not traveling at all. either way it's got to go.O7OUT

I disassembled a 26" craftsman with a 208cc

You are correct about the timing marks. There should be one on one, and two on the other. Is unit an OHV or an L head? Make sure valves are closed and piston is in TDC when lining up and you should be good to go. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/layne_0fccff498c319c32

Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower 17.5hp. Why Engine Turns Slow, Starter Hanging Up, Won't Turn Over?

Hi Joe Still having trouble with that old mower! I thought you fixed it? You stated the reason it was turning over and lock up the mower had the wrong starter on it the Starter Motor Drive Bendix had 16 teeth and the mower needed a Starter with 14 teeth so I changed the Starter out. That's what I did. I reckon you are using batteries that are wearing out and don't have the required amps. Jump start the mower using your Santa Fe with the engine running. Or take the batteries to an Interstate Battery shop and ask them to test them. That is free, but they can also pulse charge them to desulphate the plates. There is a small charge for that and they keep the battery for 24 hours. Other things you can try. Remove the starter and connect it direct to the battery. See if it spins freely? Turn the engine over by hand to see if there is stiffness. Then do it with the plugs out. ..
