Make sure to remove battery when trying this.

If not, your adapter may be faulty and you can try and measure the voltage coming from your adapter with a multimeter? Put one probe on the inner part of the power cord end that goes in your laptop and the other end on the outer part.

Pavillion ze4805us no start-up

Yes, your best option is to call the manufacturers help and support so you will have documentation that it has not worked since you bought it. If they cannot fix it over the web, then you have a record of that also. Then pack it up and send it back for a replacement or a refund..what is happening should never happen and you'll probably always have problems with it. Do not open it and play with it as you will lose your warranty.

Heat Sink/Processor Fan

This doesn't neccesarily indicate a problem. Just to be sure, Check your systems temperatures in your notebooks BIOS.

Press F10 when the HP Invent logo shows up when you boot it.

Do not forget that a notebook generates a lot of heat. Since all internal components are literally packed. A notebook is fully filled with parts.

At what point does the fan return to normal? And at what point does it speed up?

Greetings,
