HP Media Center m1080n (PC099A#ABA) PC Desktop Questions & Answers
What is the power supply
The PC power cord is connected to a power supply inside what most people call the computer, the big box with the power switch. The power supply is a transformer, changing AC power to DC of various voltages to power the internal components of the computer.
M1160n wont boot windows xp nor two internal fans
Step 1:
Lets try this...Unplug the cpuStep 2:
remove the battery from on the mainboardStep 3:
press and hold the power button for 30 secondsStep 4:

Have a PC 099A-ABA that
Hey there,
It sounds like it could be the power supply. What is the blinking light you're talking about? Is it at the socket for the network cable? (Cable should say CAT) on it somewhere.
If it is the network cable, chances are that the PSU (power supply unit) is not to blame, and it could simply be that something else inside has broken (probably the motherboard).
If it is the PSU that has gone, you need to replace it. unplug all the cables that attach to various points around your computer (making sure to note where they plug in). Then, check to see the wattage on the PSU and order one that matches or exceeds this value. They're reasonably cheap from practically any online store. I'd invest a bit extra in it though if you intend to keep the PC for a while as the reaaaally cheap ones inevitably break after a few months.
Once you have the new PSU, plug it into all the same places after screwing it in and it should work off the bat.

Unable to load autocad 97 on windows vista
I don't believe Autocad will work at all on Windows Vista.
The only other solution I can think of is to download Virtual Box from
http://www.virtualbox.org/
You will need to have an XP cd to install, and basically you will be installing an XP virtual machine, at which time you can then install Autocad 97 onto that virtual machine.
Hope this helps!
Hav a pavilion a510n HP
I had a similar problem. Moved a 4-year-old desktop. Got the flashing light and no start. Quick fix is to unplug unit, open up case and unplug the large power connector on the motherboard. (On mine this is marked P1 and has a lock tab on one side that must be held in while unplugging.) Plug the 110-volt power and THEN plug the connector back into the motherboard. Button the case back up and all will be well until the next time you shut the power off to the computer.
The cause of this problem is likely that the battery on the motherboard is nearly dead. The flashing light is a warning to replace the battery. (It would have been nice if they would have put this into the user manual.) When you disconnect the power as described above, you interrupt the low-battery circuit. Replace the battery and all should be well.
Damaged motherboard, how do I
there would be 2 solutions to this question
1. remove the hard drive and install it inside the new PC as a secondary hard drive. and copy your data off
2. remove the hard drive and put it in an external USB case, then plug it into the USB on the new PC. they look like this http://compreviews.about.com/library/graphics/BelUSB2parts.jpg there are many different brands most PC shops have them.
Computer will not turn on. green light blinking
Try replacing the power supply, a blinking green light usually means the power supply is missing an output voltage. If you do that and you still get a blinking green light then the motherboard will need to be replaced.
How to find system recovery
first go into the all program, then open accessories then system tools.then open system recovery. then start system recovery and select the date and restore your system.
If you monitor is showing the message no signal
hi ,
check the pins in the monitor plug as they can be bent , and also check your mointor is set to accept an input from your lead ( serial/hdmi etc )
Some monitors have a built diagnostic which is often colour bars , if your monitor shows this then its almost certainley a lead problem
hope this helps
