your machine has a pressure switch to tell it what the water level is-if it is overfilling make sure the small hose attached to the tub is not clogged-it may even be the fitting it attaches to is clogged-what ever you do don't give up your old machine-the new ones won't last as long or wash your clothes as good-cheers Denny

does it look like this? somewhat challenging to replace because of the washer cabinet, if you don't put it back correctly then the washer will move around when it goes into spin. go to the you tube link.

If the washer agitates in the wash cycle but not in the rinse cycle, my best guess is that the timer is bad. They are not too hard to replace if you can get one from sears, but make sure you unplug the washer before you reach in to the electrical stuff. On my washer, the control panel on top had a back plate that was held on by a few screws. Best of Luck

check your lid switch may be broken. or could be your timer does it stop and not advance? if it gets stuck you more than likey have a broken lid switch. but if it gets stuck in one cycle and keeps washing and washing and washing you more have a bad timer.

i had one of these, and also had the same issue. When I did a load no problem. When my flatmate did a load is when the suds issue occurred. Make sure you are using the right amount of soap for the water level

there is a chance that your lid switch is faulty.you can also check to see if there is anything obstructing the drain pump

If the washer fills, agitates, then stops at the rinse and won't drain, or if the washer does an initial fill, then stops, this is a symptom of a lid switch malfunction.

The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug.

If the model number you have this listed under is correct, the part number for a replacement lid switch is 3949247. This is a very simple repair, that usually costs about $30 to repair yourself.

Appliancepartspros.com, pcappliancerepair.com and searspartsdirect.com usually have excellent exploded view diagrams of what I am referring to. Just type in your model number and look under the "Top and Cabinet Parts" section. The lid switch is listed as item 11 and the lid strike is listed as item 20.

I had the same problem as most of you dosnt spin right or adgitate especially with heaver loads.

Theres a coupler which acts like a universal joint on a car. Its made of plastic and the plastic numbs that lock it in break off. I changed my coupler and that was 2 years ago and havent had any problems since.

If the fill hose has become unhooked from the outer drum of the machine, it'll just dump water all over the floor... it'll leak out of the case of the machine, but it's an easy fix... you simply open the machine, reinstall the hose into the drum or you may have to replace the hose...washing machines will last a good long time...it's worth the trouble to fix...let me know if you need help opening it up.
This can happen if the machine is overloaded... I had a laundromat and this happened alot because people were cheeeeep and wanted to overstuff the machine thinking they'd get a better deal...not true...dirtier clothes and broken machines....

The problem is most likely the water fill sensor switch. If it is telling the machine that it is full, it will go right to agitate.
