I have a asus k8s-mx motherboard with windows 7

Audio driver for win 7 does't exist for this board. I suggest you buy new PCI sound card with software which supports win 7. Install it to PCI slot.

I am using K8S MX Motherboard with OS-Windows XP. but my hard disk is not working. i want to purchase a new 160gb IDE hard drive. please tell me if it supports 160gb hard drive or not

The specs for this motherboard say it has a Utra-DMA 133, and 2 SATA 3Gbs ports. You can connect any IDE HD, and any SATA 3 or lower HD. These standards are backwards compatible. When it comes to size, there is a 2TB MBR limit.I would skip IDE and go directly with a SATA 3 drive.http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_754/K8SMX/#specificationsGL

I AM USING K8S-MX DUE

Try downloading the driver from the Asus website: http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K8S-MX&p=1&os=

It's not the normal AC97 driver, so this may be the issue.

Hope this helps.

My computer turns over will

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error If your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it or you might have a dirty graphics card remove the graphics card and clean the socket hope this helps

Can not borad access sata

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical extension or fan lead can cause this problem

follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working hope this helps also it could be a dirty computer clean all of the dust from your computer you could use a vacuum cleaner but whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no moisture gets to anything in your computer

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd drive restart your computer then plug them back in this should activate the found new hardware wizard or you might have to uninstall then reinstall your DVD/CD or uninstall the driver then reinstall for this device Click start control panel administrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question mark ? right click you will have options to update driver, roll back driver,or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose DeleteAfter deleting the keys, close the registry editorReboot your computerOpen My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.hope this helps

Sir,asus k8v-mx mther board- audio

This could have several solutions. If it is an on-board audio, might need to get audio drivers from Asus. If it's a separate audio card, might need to get drivers from that maker's site. You can also go to MS Win7 support site and post the situation for a solution. One way to find out is to go to your Device Manager and uninstall the audio drivers (or roll back the divers in the device properties) and see if Windows will load them back or load the correct ones if the original ones were not compatible.

And if the on-board audio is not working, purchase a new PCI audio card and install it, load drivers and have audio!

Hope this helps,
James
