The hard drive does need to be replaced and must be done by an authorized Canon service tech (like me) who has access to the system software. The system software ( or firmware) is installed on the new hard drive using Canon's Service Support Tool. Check here to find your local authorized Canon dealer.

Unplug the unit from the source of electricity. Open the front cover located on the face of the unit.

Locate the blue lever in front of the toner cartridge. You will be able to see it clearly when you look through the opening originally covered by the front cover.

Pull the blue lever down gently. Do not use force. It is easy to manipulate and just needs a gentle pull.4

Look for the blue handle that is on the toner box. Grasp the handle firmly and pull it. The toner box will move toward you. Remove the toner box until it cannot go any farther. The fact that your Win XP based computers continue to print properly suggests that the problem lies with your recently purchased Dell laptop running the Windows 7 64-bit operating system. Even though the laptop may have found the 3300i Printer on the network, it may have installed an old or incompatible printer driver. Suggest you do the following on your new Dell laptop...
1. delete/uninstall the problematic printer
2. download and run Canon's latest print drivers for Windows 7 64-bit (see comment & link below)
3. re-install the 3300i printer and hopefully this has resolved your problem.

thermistor detects overheating (hardware

Main cause - The fixing film unit is faulty (i.e., the thermistor has a short circuit).

To clear the error, execute the following in service move:
COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR.

check the bypass if bypass not working (not pass paper) that means there are (inside) a sensor spring are loosed

These machines can print slowly for a varity of reasons. First and foremost is using the incorrect driver. The correct driver can be downloaded here:

Also slow printing can be a symtom of a hard drive about to fail (e602 codes).
Fastest printing speeds can be achieved using the following basic assumptions:
1) The copier is printing thru a standard cat5 cable; not thru the parallel port.
2) The network the copier is on is healthy and operating normally.
3) The network settings on the copier are configured correctly.

I am a Canon trained authorized tech on these machines and have been working in the field on the ImageRunner 3300 series since their release. I'm not sure if a ram upgrade is available but I haven't installed one in the six plus years of servicing this machine to fix a slow print problem.

mani some days back i am also faced same type problem , solution, when i opened fixing unit there damaged parts are LOWER ROLLER ,HEATER AND FILM i changed all parts then its automatically solved.
