i have a canon d660u and don't have the disc can't install my scanner after i lost the connection

Ther is NO driver above windows XP on the Canon website for this device. You can try for yourself by clicking the link below, but I suspect you will need a newer scanner. Sorry, Ian.

Click start,, right click computer,, click device manager.. Right click any iten and select scan for hardware changes... Now click start and windows updates.. Install all optional updates... Restart.. Try it now,, u might need too import directly into you image editing app..

all you need to do is download it and install it, this only works for Xp operating systems tho so this depneds on what operating system your using.

You will need to provide the following:
1.Model number of the scanner.
2. Your Operating system you are using on the PC
3. Check the scanner against the compatibility list on Windows 7 ( it may not be compatible)
4. You may need to uninstall and reinstall the scanner with the scanner software.
5. check for driver update for the scanner.
6. check to see if the drive is moving/ If not then the scanner motor needs replacement. Might be a bit expensive and parts may not be available.
7. Check the manufacturers web site for documentation on troubleshooting step if applicable.

I have the same problem. Just hope that Canon people stop by on this page and hear the issue one day.

You should have a "scan" button on your hardware. Once you hit that, the appropriate software should open up automatically. If not, you'll need to install the software that came with the scanner. It will give you the program you need.

Try installing the driver for the scanner again or when the scanner is connected a new device connected toolbar will come out hen just follow it up until installation will proceed. Try opening your my computer in the start page and see if the new driver was installed.

connect all cables and power it on before turning on the pc so that it will be detected.
