Had the same problem as you but was able to fix it. I basically plugged it in and out while switching the lock switch until it worked. Here is my theory:
The scanner strip got stuck further into the glass instead of tucked in behind the plastic, and i couldn't use the block switch (it was stuck)
When you plug the scanner in it moved a little, i would then be able to lock the switch.
I finally locked it into the position the furthest back, then unplugged it turned the switch to unlock and plugged it in, it worked.

My explanation is a mess but hope it helps you.

unfortunately there are no available 64 bit drivers. microsoft does not also carry any drivers for it in windows 7.

have you installed latest .net framework, this may help, also did you install Everything as Administrator? Also "Run" all .exe's as Administrator too. If Win 7 on a 64bit system, remember to turn OFF Digital Driver Signing, at boot time by pressing F8, & disabling it there every time you boot the PC. That feature MUST be disabled to install it too.

An error message popping out saying:

release the lock switch, deatach the I/F cable and receoonect.
scanner driver will be closed.

I have unlocked it and recoonect the cable. but my scanner cant seem to scan through it.

Go to Canon site and then driver & support then choose scanner and select the model aftert that driver shown and then click on download

the cause is that usb cable supplies power to scanner(there is no power cable) and therefore can not be much long, plug the original cable from scanner directly to USB port in your PC and it will be working correctly. If you use additonal cable to connect scanner to your pc you wil get the error code
