That is what we call short cycling. Most times the problem is caused by a defective start relay, overload and run capacitor. These parts can be located on the wires coming from the little box on the side of the compressor. Wish I could provide a photo but the parts dealers will most likely have a schematic and part numbers. The whole problem can also be brought on by a defective fan motor because the compressor works really hard to help cool but the compressor shuts down when it can not compress the Freon at high temperature. The problems listed are all related to what is happening when compressor stops and starts every minute. See the picture below: It is best to perform a visual inspection of the fan and measure the winding resistance. In this case there is no possibility of blocking the fan due to the excessive amount of ice. The reason is clearly visible from the the picture. The fan is located above the battery evaporator. Ensure nothing is blocking the blower, the setting may be to low as well

my kitchen aid KSRD22FKSS04 it's 25 side by side not cooling both side .

the problem is caused by frost build up on the freezer evaporator which is behind the rear plastic wall inside the freezer.the likeley cause is the defrost timer this is located at rear of the machine to the left of the compressor it is mounted in a white box secured to the cabinet ,two screws secure the box and two secure the timer to the box remove the four connectors from the timer there are four small philips screws in the timer once removed the cover comes off the timer inside there are four sets of contacts if any are black you can be certain this is the problem get a new timer this will cure it .if the contacts are not black, the problem is to do with the sealed system gas,compressor,evaporator etc .if this is the case cut your losses buy a new one
