Why does my laptop show low disc space?
Hello
The low disc space message refers to the amount of free disc space on your c drive. The c drive is the drive on which your windows is installed, thus yu need to delete some games or not neccesary files to free up some space on your drive. Hope this can help you.
Kind regards
Andrea
Compaq CQ 62 fails to start and fails most tests does any one know what this error code means: 98AFM9-000759-XD003G-COC603 ?
I\'m guessing from the format that it was accompanied by a blue screen with white lettering? That\'s called the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), and it\'s not a very welcome sight among IT professionals...Sounds like your Operating system got a bit scrambled. Could be due to a failing hard drive, wildly fluctuating voltage, or good ol\' fashioned malware/viruses. In any case, I think you\'re approaching the "factory reset" event horizon.I would suggest a repair of the OS. The company that made your pc likely sent you an operating system restore disc or something similar, if they didn\'t they almost surely have one available. Tech support for that OEM should be able to walk you through the process of restoring your pc back to factory settings. WARNING: This will delete ALL data on the main system drive (C:). It is considered a last resort only. If that should fail, it\'s likely the hard drive is going bad. Any SATA mobile hard drive should fit the bill, they\'re quite simple to replace too.
Error 0x400110020000100A after hard drive replacement
One of your self-created disks may have an error. I recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your computer to obtain system reload/restore disks directly from them. Often, depending on manufacturer, these are free or very low cost, such as cost+shipping ~$15-$25.
Restore compaq presario cq62 to factory settings
1. Turn off your computer.
2. Press the power button to turn your computer on.
3. Hit F11 a few times quickly, while the launch screen is still up. This will launch the Recovery Manager. (If you see the Windows 7 boot logo, you've missed your chance and need to restart your computer and try again from step 2.)
4. On the left side it will say "I need help immediately". Underneath that there will be an option that says "System Recovery". Click on that.
5. There will be an option to either back up your files before restoring, or to recover without backing up your files. In my case, I'm recovering without backing up my files.
6. It will tell you to make sure all devices are disconnected from your computer. Make sure they are, and then click "OK".
7. There will be a "Welcome to the Recovery Manager" screen. Click "Next".
8. It will begin to reformat your partition and to reinstall the Windows 7 setup files. Once it's done doing that, click "Next". You'll be brought to a page saying "Recovery is Complete". After that all you need to do is reboot, and it will bring you through the wizard to set up Windows 7, just like on a new computer!
Good luck :)
Presario R4000 battery is charging but the lightning bolt is not lit
When you first turn on the laptop, does the lightning bolt LED light up for a split second, even before Windows opens? That is a test that the LED is not burned out. If it does, then are you using the correct AC adapter that came with the laptop? Some look identical, but are not as powerful enough to run the computer correctly and you wouldn't necessarily notice a difference except something like the LED. How old it the battery and how long does it take to fully charge?
1. Reset the laptop by shutting down the laptop and unplugging from AC power;
2. Remove the battery;
3. With the computer unplugged and no battery, hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Remember no power on the computer at all for this step.
4. Replace the battery and plug it back in and turn on.
If that doesn't help, search the internet or HP's web site and update the BIOS for your specific system. Look for good directions for doing this and don't run the BIOS update from the internet, you should download the BIOS to your computer and then run it from there. The BIOS cannot be interrupted. If the BIOS is interrupted while installing, it WILL render your computer useless and you will have to replace the motherboard (extremely expensive).
Any solutions to my notebook problems
The first thing to always try is resetting your PC. With a laptop, you must unplug it and remove the battery. While the laptop is unplugged and the battery removed, hold down the power button for a minimum of 30 seconds. This will reset the PC. Plug it back in and see if it works now. Always try to reset the PC first, for many different problems.
