With this one you will need to select your operating system from a list, scroll down to the driver selection and click on your desired driver.

I have been sucessful useing either method.

this model doesnt support o.s. vista......
only supports to xp of 64bits

I managed to find one on eBay for about $13.

Using the Lexmark Z42 driver works for Vista Home Premium.

the cartridge will be blocked better dip in cleaning solutions for a while and try to print again . If the same problem occurs again change your cartridge by a new one for further information contact www.abhi_abhi_4891 @ yahoo.com

clean the paper rollers with water...let dry, then send a sample page through..no print necessary. just print a blank page.

software problem..check website for updates.

re-install printer...otherwise..since its an inkjet..buy one

1 Did you test the cartridge by dabbing it on a wet towel
to see if ink blots the towel
2. make sure the cartridge is seated and latched properly
3 Go to printers find your printer R click select properties
check to see if detect printer cartridge type is checked
make sure type of catridge is set (color or black)
4.Press the reset button
5. unplug the printer for about 15 minutes and plug it
back in
Try the above not neccessarily in the above order

Unfotunatly there are no drivers capable with WinXP...
the lateset OS version for this printer is Win2000

It must be the USB drivers problem in communicating to your PC.Thats the reason it says offline.Try the below steps and PLEASE let me know what happened!!!!

1.Right click on MY computer ->Properties->Hardware->Device manager.

2.You will get Device manager window popping out.

3.Scroll down to "Universal Serial BUS controllers".Click on the (+) sign.

4.Check for the "USB Composite Device" and right click on it, click Uninstall.(IMPORTANT NOTE:WE HAVE TO UNINSTALL THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, TO KNOW WHETHER IS THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, RIGHT CLICK ON USB COMPOSITE DEVICE AND PROPERTIES,look for what location says, Eg -LOCATION : Compaq LJ1200 )

5.Disconnect the USB and reboot the PC.

6.Connect the USB after reboot, you will get popup "Found new hardware".Then the Drivers will be installed Automatically.

This printer I suspect is a re-branded Lexmark similar to the Z series. There appears to be a firmware failure. I have a Z12 stripped on my bench right now- nothing there to repair.- Check with Compaq first of course but it reckon its time for the bin.

Go to Control Panel look and see what printer or printers are connected to your PC. Then I would try to reinstall my new printer.

You need the Windows XP driver for The Compaq A-1000 printer. Which is necessary as well as up so 15245 for all printer features.
