Have a Belling GT755 and

The oven has a flame detection installed that makes sure the gas turns off if the flame goes out. There are two component that do this. One is the flame detector and the other is the control device that turns the gas off,. Either one of these cold be faulty. The cheapest way is probably to replace the detector in the oven and if that does not work, replace the gas control device.

Oven wont stay lit

If you are talking about the little flame that is supposed to be burning at all times then you need to go to a hardware store and purchase a thermocouple. It is a small copper tube that sense's the flame. When working it will constantly burn a pilot flame so that when you turn on the oven it will ignite the gas in the burner. Once the burner is lit it will stay lit until the oven reaches the desired temperature. Replace the THERMOCOUPLE.

How can i replace a normal electric socket with a

What are you calling a normal socket? 120 volt? If it is not a dedicated circuit, YOU can't do it, you will need to call an electrician. If it is a dedicated circuit,(a socket that has its own breaker, with NOTHING ELSE attatched to it), you take the neutral leg, the white wire, and connect it to a leg of power next to the one that the breaker is connected to. You must change the breaker to a 2 pole, and make sure you are not over amping the circuit. You can only go up 20% on the amperage. Any more, and you run the risk of melting wires, which might cause a fire. Get back to me if you have ANY questions. This is a job for an electrician

Belling G755 Cooker oven wont stay lit

I'll give this a go! With a cooker like this, you depress and then turn the control knob, press the ignition button and continue to depress the control knob for a few seconds. This is because a device called a thermocouple is heated by the flame and you have to continue to depress the control knob so that sufficient gas flows to heat up the thermocouple. If the thermocouple does not get hot or stay hot then the gas valve is automatically closed - stopping the gas. The thermocouple is a 'flame failure' safety device. If the gas gets cut off then the flame goes out and the thermocouple goes cold switching off the gas valve automatically. However, you are having to try and manually keep the gas going for a good five minutes. I would think that there is either a problem with the thermocouple or the gas control valve! I've got a Belling LPG gas oven and it lights ok but then pops and blows itself out. I've replaced the thermocouple and it's made no difference. Any suggestions ?

Taking a guess, I would expect gas is leaking from somewhere and bypassing the burner and when it has built enough to reach the flame it will pop. LPG is heavier than air... I suggest you remove the burner and ensure everything is clean including inside the mixing chamber is free of fluff and dust and ensure the gas jet and gas supply to the jet housing is tight and the connection to the pilot light is similarly tight.

I have a belling Victoriana gas cooker. the FSD was replaced by British Gas six months ago but I now have a different problem. The oven igniter presses in and clicks and sparks but will not light?

On all burners? Have you cleaner the burners and now its not working. Try taking the burner tops OFF Now put them back carefully, making sure that they completely fit. It's unusual that they all fail at one. Try my instructions and get back if it still doesn't work Good luck

I have a Belling Richmond dual fuel cooker (electric & LPG) and can't simmer anything on the burners because the flame is too high even at the lowest setting

Most gas ranges and cooktops are set for natural gas at the factory. If the flames are too high this could be an indication the range or cooktop was improperly converted from a natural gas setting to LP, (Liquid Propane) gas setting. Contact your installer or local Gas Company to correctly convert the range or cooktop. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/marc_162a3912222e83a4
