You are limited in the choices for video card The Optiplex GX270 only has a 160W
power supply Not only that but because of the slim case, you're most likely limited to low profile
video cards. That means the choices will be extremely limited & not very good. Even after the upgrade, you'll most likely have to stick with older games. follow this link to buy low profile video cards

Re-installed windows xp on dell optiplex SX270 and i've no sound
Begin by checking device manager. If there is a Unknown device or PCI device listed but not properly installed you will need to identify your audio chipset and downlaod and install the correct driver. 90% of all onboard audio chipsets are AC 97' by Realtek.
If you need help in locating the drivers just post back.
No Response from keyboard or mouse
We must have an epidemic. The person before you had just about the same problem, but his was worse. I know a Dell Optiplex. I had one and I installed Linux. Then I found it had a loose connection between the video socket and the MB. I will need some information of what happened, so we can duplicate your problem in our laboratory and be able to give you concrete info. Thank you for considering our service...
My name is Constantin (arzconst)

Hou do i reset bios on a dell optiplex sx270
- Boot up the computer into the setup (depending on your bios, to get into the bios you need to hit the DEL key during boot up.)
- Press 'ALT' and 'F' at the same time
- Turn 'NUM LOCK', 'SCROLL LOCK' and 'CAPS LOCK' on. (Make sure the lights on the keyboard are on.)
- Press 'ALT' and 'P' at the same time. The bios should now be reset to the factory settings.
Orange led on mother board
You have a hardware failure, most likely memory or video card. The first thing I would try is open the case and blow the dust out of it, especially dust on the memory modules and anywhere on the motherboard. Then try to boot the computer again. If that does not work I would start removing components one at a time and testing them.
Blown dell motherboard
Have you checked to make sure it wasn't the power supply? If this motherboard is still inside the pc and the cd/dvd lights up, or the network card shows life, fans, case lights, etc: than I would rule bad mobo. If nothing shows signs of life, try power supply or even better maybe a lose connection.Check all cabling and wire plugs. Clean out any dust.
I want to know about some adventures video games?
Check out Big Fish Games. It is a subscription service but they have all types of games including adventure and hidden object. You can also tryp Pogo since they have both a fee and subscription service. Last, but not least, you can try one of your local computer stores or the electronics section of "big box" stores like Target, Walmart, Kmart, etc.
