Epson RX425 multifunction
Just cracked it, had same prob...printer would print but wouldn't scan
lost original CD...tryed epson downloads but not the older versions...
i needed the 2.6 version

Ok, the key problem here is that your printer has indicated the waste ink pads in the printer need changing because they're full of waste ink.
Resolving this is a two pronged attack.
1. Download the SSC utility from here:

Install then run.
Under configuration choose you RX425 printer then in the "printer model" field choose the "Epson Stylus CX4600(4500)/CX36x0(3500)/RX42x(430)/MP-A700" option.
Click on the top right X as if you were closing the utility and you'll see a little printer icon appear in the system tray (series of icons in the bottom right hand corner of your screen usually).
Right click on this and locate the "Protection Counter" and under this the "Reset Protection Counter" and "Clear counter overflow"
Then turn off your printer and turn it back on again. You should be able to print again now.
2. BUT... You still have a printer with close to full waste pads so you need to deal with that. WARNING: Ignore it and expect to get a puddle of waste ink flowing out of your printer at some point!

Epson Stylus RX425
First remove the paper and tip the printer onto its back and give it a shake to see if anything comes out from the paper feed. Next try a piece of stiff card approx A4 size and insert this where the paper feeds into the printer. Give it a good wiggle and push it the the printer, watch the inside to see what is pushed out. I have found everything from plant leaves to a golf tee!
How do I check the
Double click the little icon it looks like this..
on your taskbar (by the clock). A window will open showing a picture of each cartridge and the amount of ink in each one. Have a great day- Print away.
All in one printer, scanner and photocopier wont work?

Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Epsom RX 425 Just prints half a page
If you are 101% sure that you have the paper size set correctly on the panel and that you have the orientation and zoom set as they should be then the answer is... you can't fix it.
If the machine is set correctly but fails to print the whole page then the main board in the machine is faulty and the only fix is either a new board or a new printer.
If your machine is in warranty then get Epson to replace it for you. If the warranty is out, then it probably is not economical to repair the machine, but you could get a quote from a local dealer just to check.

Printer heads clooged and need cleaning
use coffee filter and alcohol.
wrapped the coffee filter on yor figure or other similar object and put couple of drops of alcohol on, and carefully go over the printer head. do that till yu can see there is no more ink on the print head, then use a clean coffee filter go over one more time.
reinstall the cartridge.
All lights flashing, Reset code wanted?
The answer to my problem was to download ssc service facility it not only resets my reset problem, it also resets inks as well. Download is free and i rate it first class. It covers many epson printers.
Problem with my printer Epson Photo Stylus RX425
This indicates that the waster ink chamber is getting full.
To clean it out means dimantling the whole machine bacuse it sits in the base of the machine and is a series of absorbant pads.- they need rinising and drying.
However this waring is an electronic fudge based in the number of pages.
Using SSC right click on the taskbar icon and click on 'Reset All counters'
You can also resetby pressing a combination of the buttons whilst switching the machine off then back on.
Which buttons?

Epson stylus PHOTO RX425
Epson has software called "Epson smart panel" and you can select scan from the list of operations.
Turn your scanner on, (windows OS) click on "start" then click on "all programs", look for epson smart panel in programs list, click and let panel load, then select scan.
It will take some time for the scanner to warm and scan, so be patient, after it is scanned your options are to print, or save. If you save, be sure you know where its filed or "tell" it where to save, I recommend creating a new folder before in "your pictures" titled "scans" . Usually after you do this, it will save it there by default.
