Epson Photo Stylus 825 printer problem
Depening on the age and usage of the printer, it may indeed be correct that the 'sponges' that collect ink are saturated. Unfortunately, there can only be replaced by a servicer. I assume that your printer is now out of warranty, so it would be better to replace the unit now. The best replacement is the Stylus Photo R380 - it's $109.99 with instant rebate.
Epson 825 locks up
Try running the "printer head cleaning" program first. The heads may simply have dried ink in them and need to be cleaned out. You might need to run it a few times.
Right Click on the printer icon and you'll find "properties". Click on "properties" and in your printer settings and features you'll find "print test page". Try that and just follow the prompts. You should also find a "utilities" program that does the same thing and might work faster for you.
Probelms printing with black ink
On my system when I select print I can go to the print settings and I have the option of selecting either color or black. Not sure if that helps.
EPSON STYLUS RX 520 HAS AN ERROR E-91
The error E-91 on an Epson Stylus RX 520 indicates a communication problem between the printer and the cartridge. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove all the ink cartridges and check for any damage or leaks. Replace any damaged or leaking cartridges.
- Clean the metal contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. Make sure they are completely dry before reinserting the cartridges.
- Reinstall the ink cartridges and make sure they are properly seated.
- Turn on the printer and see if the error message still appears.
If the error message persists, try resetting the printer by following these steps:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Hold down the "Stop" and "B&W" buttons while plugging in the power cord.
- Keep holding the buttons until the printer starts to initialize.
- Release the buttons and wait for the printer to finish initializing.
- Try printing again to see if the error message is resolved.
If none of these steps work, there may be a hardware issue with the printer and it may need to be serviced by a professional technician.
