drop kick unit across room:)))) sorry just kidding I had the same problem with mine. If the computer is continually printing that means the printer is receiving print orders from your computer. Best thing is just disconnect the printer from the computer and turn the computer off and wait 30 seconds then turn on . This should clear the print cache then reconnect the printer. Make sure to only request one print at at a time.
if the printer continues to print blank pages check to see if you have the latest software driver for the printer installed on your computer. You can do this by going to the manufactures website and download the software its easy to do just follow the prompts and install! Hope this helpful!!!

You are asking because you got a message like this:
parts inside my printer are reaching their end of service life?Read about it at this link:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Storesupport/InkPadsForm.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes.
4 options:
1. Reset the printer with the utility above (after realizing that IF the pads are actually near full, which I've only seen once, ink will start overflowing onto your desk sometime in the future (put the printer on a baking pan for safety).
2a. Replace pads yourself (a pain and cost more than the printer is worth) parts drawing and parts are available at:http://www.compassmicro.com/
The rest is disassembly- either the service manual - you might find free (or a YouTube video), but definitely for $ at:http://www.2manuals.com/index.php?cPath=2_39
JUST DON'T TRY DOING THIS WITHOUT some guidance- you will end up at option 3 eventually if you do this you will still need to do # 1 to reset the counter2b. Have service firm do it ( way more than the printer is worth)
3a.If you really "love" that C84, or have a bunch of ink - look on Craigslist or ebay
3b. Buy "refurbished" epson printer with warranty, inks and probably free shipping at:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/EsHome.do?BV_UseBVCookie=yes

See the on-line handbook

http://support.epson-europe.com/onlineguides/en/sc84/index.htm

and look in Problem Solver, Diagnosing the Problem, Error indicators. If the two lights are flashing together, you have a paper jam. If this is the case, you should be able to pull the paper out from the front or top. If the lights are flashing together, and you can't see any paper jamming the printer, post a new comment to this effect for more help.

If the lights are flashing alternately (Unknown printer error), it usually means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink "protection" counter has exceeded its limit. You can restore your printer to a working condition immediately by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and use it to reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you should change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer.

If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, report back with a new comment and I will provide further help.

The ink is a lubricant for the print heads. Some color ink is used even if you only print in black or vice-versa. If you printed with a color missing, you could destroy that print head from the friction of running without ink to lubricate it. That's why most printers won't allow you to print with a color missing even if you aren't using it.

If you allow a color to go empty, the residual ink in the head could clog and become permanently blocked. You would never be able to print that color again. So always replace ink cartridges as soon as they are empty.

Leaving your printer on takes very little power. Every so often the printer sends a signal to cycle the ink in the heads so it doesn't clog. If you turn your printer off, the next time you turn it on it will do a cleaning which wastes a lot of ink. The excess ink is soaked up by the waste pad beneath the printer. When the waste pad is full, the printer stops working. Unless you want to spend more than the cost of the printer or waste a lot of time on a messy cleanup you will end up throwing the printer out. So shutting it off actually shortens its life.

If you leave the printer off for extended periods of time, the ink in the heads will clog and you will have to throw the printer away.

Here's how to clear blocked print heads, given you've run the cleaning of the print heads or nozzles from the printer at least 5 times:
-remove the cartridge(s) from the blocked head and drop alcohol where the ink enters the printer.
-reinsert the cartridges
-run one head cleaning
-wait about an hour then run some head cleanings.
-dip the print heads in Isopropyl Alcohol overnight, which you can buy from chemist

-if that still doesn't work, your heads may be clogged to the point where they need repair or replacement, which will probably cost more than a new printer.

Yes there is a fuse inside the unit and if you know what your are doing you can open it and replace the fuse with the same rating. And there are few features for the newer types like some are inglass enclosure and some are in a molded case and you can notice it with the part name "FS 1" and this types need soldering work.
