Sound
If you have the CD Driver of your laptop, try to install your Sound Driver. Just look for the Setup.exe or if it doesnt have a setup.exe and you want to install it manually, go to Control Panel and open Add Hardware, if your computer detected that the sound needs driver showing a critical icon(yellow triangle with exclamation point). Just browse the CD so that the computer will know where to find the sound driver. If you dont have a CD of your sound driver. Go the Gateway site. This is the support download site of Gateway : http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/ddaStep.asp?Tab=All ----Just complete steps 1-5 and you can download your sound driver.
Gateway 7322GZ laptop will not power up
Hello there,
When you replaced the CMOS battery im sure you dismantle the laptop. re trace your steps one by one, there might be a loose wire or a wire that got caught and pressed against each other.
Try also with the battery removed if it works.
You can also test the power button's continuity it to test if it still works. And if you can you can also short the wire to see if it works.

Gateway solo 9300
Sounds like the cable is not securely connected to the motherboard.
I would doubt the OS is responsible for this problem.
Nice little machine, the service manual is available for download for free. Might give a shot at refastening the cable.
If you're not that enthusiastic about taking a laptop apart, possibly an external mouse?
Put XP back on. If you have enough memory, it runs just fine.
Good luck

Dismantle
I htink the easies way would be to get the keyboard out. Have you been able to do so? There might be some small "sliders" with holes in them between the keys around the edge of the keyboard. Put a paperclip in the hole and slide the "locking bolt" towards the middle of the keyboard (only a mm or two) to loosen it.

I have a Gateway LP2417 monitor and there's No sound.Hoe do I fix it,so I can hear the video that is playing?
This monitor may not have built-in speakers. It may have supported Gateway's monitor mounted sound bar. That sound bar connected to the 3.5 mm audio out on a computer and a DIN port on the monitor.
The simplest solution is to connect your source to appropriate speakers. Depending on your audio setup, you could connect the video source to a receiver with HDMI IN and HDMI Out (ARC), computer speakers or an audio extractor. (If you are using an HDMI cable between the Gateway LP2417 and a computer, you may need to reset the audio output to use basic computer speakers (3.5mm jack).) VGA and DVI connections don't support audio so I assume you are using the HDMI port.
I hope this helps.
