IT WAS MADE(MFG) 2006 Business grade note book now (your date) is 8 years old. so what fails on all PCs that old then. A: remove Huge battery first and leave it out until PC runs right again that huge battery is bad , this old, get it out of there then.... 1; ccfl BACK LAMPS DEAD (WOW YOURS WORK) Amazing! 2: the RTC coin cell battery is dead, all are that old or near. and can never be ignored ever if bad as most are past 7 years old 3: hdd is dead. as many are this old the solutions are easy, in a list, a new battery coin, remove large battery it is no good that old too. then reset BIOS via BIOS the test the HDD if it will not boot to HDD0 all PCs fail just like this, all do., from AGE. the silicon chips can go for 50years. never CCF, never batteries never HDD see? some things are what I call weak technology. or get it fixed in a real shop.

which drive was changed NOT TOLD mine has 3 +1 external. changed the boot drive, not told. the new hdd is blank so there is no OS on any hdd. new. NO PC told at all, model (of vast) 4 decades back to first compaq. no OS told xp to w11. not one clue as to the OS that is there now. is the OS same as day 1 new PC, not told. how the OS got to there no told cloned it> loaded OS (secret) to new boot drive? ? then found the wifi drivers are missing or wrong no class of internet told (how connected via what and what ISP) my guess is lost all wifi settings and wrong or missing wifi driver (try using ethernet cable) lost only the your private wifi credentials? if you can ping 1.1.1.1 internet is not dead. only DNS is dead or set wrong. use Ethernet first. to see, omg internet is not dead the fix wifi or 3G-wwlan or what ever service you have and not told hints, the OS has wifi drivers and must be good in device manager or wifi will be dead. no OS told nor if upgraded OS nor what PC this is. some laptops had 3 choices wifi card new (only HP;'s work) and the driver must match only 1 of the 3. or fails hard it will, hp.com go to your support page, and get the driver that matches you card and your OS not told.

3. make sure HDD boot drive is not full, ever. 3/4 is max, limit it.
4. make sure RAM is not full running, 2 cures, more ram or delete all apps in memory not used, (startups)
5. add more RAm (ddr) OLD PC MAX OUT AT 3.2GB .
6. KEEP fans and vents clean or it overheats and runs slow. all PCs do that never cleaned ever. called normal service.
7. HDD Smart test fails. oops the drive is BAD.
8. all old HDD go slower with age, by SSD and use that.
