These problems require simple troubleshooting that you canperform by yourself. Contact ASUS Technical Support if you encounterproblems not mentioned in this section.ProblemActionThe POWER LED does notlight up.Verify that you are using the ACadapter provided with the switchand that it is securely connected tothe switch and an electrical outletwith the correct output voltage.Verify that the Ethernet cable issecurely connected to the switchand your network device.Make sure that the switch and yournetwork device are powered ON.Verify that your cable is sufficient foryour network requirements. Makesure that Category 5 cable is used.10Mbit/sec connections may toleratelower quality cables.Make sure that the cable used areCategory 5 certified.The STATUS LED does notlight up after an Ethernetcable is attached.The speed indicator showsincorrect speed.Try replacing your UTP Category 5cable with a new one.Check the cable length. The cablelength between the switch and thenetwork device must not exceed100 meters (328 feet).Some old network devices may havethis problem and cannot be avoided.Collisions are occurring(DUPLEX LED blinking) andnetwork performance isreduced.
