The idle tire for your VCR is either dirty or has worn out and has stopped the tape reel from being able to move and turn and also the rubber parts need to be replaced or cleaned as ell.

replace it back after about 5 minutes and then try turning it ON again.The error you are getting is a "zoom error". Go to "My Computer" (where it lists your C: drive) and see if the camera is listed as a removable drive. If so, double click on it and see if you can copy the files over that way.
Take a look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I searched for vista compatible driver. But I could find any. But still you can try to install it in a Vista pc. Then run windows update. There is chance that windows automatically installes the driver. but i cannot assure you about that.
