Hi,
Does Windows recognize flash drive when you plug it in usb port of computer? Do you hear ding sound from computer speaker?
If yes then click My Computer and find out new drive letter, it is flash drive, click that drive and go in folder to copy picture files and paste them in My Pictures or some where in computer.

The salt in the seawater corrodes the circuits causing your current problems. Repairs would eventually be more than replacing the camera.

But have you considered NOT connecting the camera to the computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

A lot of people assume that they must use the cable and sofware that came with the camera in order to download their photos. The problem is that the cable/camera way is very problematic.

I assume you're using a CF type 1 card. Some CF cards have been known to drain batteries. As an experiment, remove the card and see if the batteries drain at the same rate.

ctrl panel uninstall (add/ remove (xp) uninstall software

go to system.. hardware...device manager and delete any instances of the camera in the list.

Reinstall the software but do not plug the camera in.

reboot the PC


connect camera and see if it is now discovered ( found new eqpt)

proceed to manipulate your photos.

have you prove to pic fotos. if the camera make fotos,and memorize on the card, but you cant see the foto in the camera schreen this is only a lcd defekt, you must prove if the lcd flat is right connected. if the camera dont pics foto, the problem is in the ccd. you must change the ccd. allor. memorize fotos and you can see trhe foto on your pc...lcd problem contact failure ore lcd faul to change. if the camera dont pics foto...ccd failure to change the ccd.

if the camera makes this problem of the moment that you have buy the camera, it s probably that this is a problem with the high resolution, and high iso. if the camera make this problem now, it s possible that the ccd is faul and you must change it.

If camera shows previously stored images in memory card in playback mode correctly but does not show live view in camera mode to take fresh pictures then its problem of ccd imager chip failure that will be replaced to solve the issue.
