Using AA batteries in nec mobilepro 790

no absolutely not! i have not read that any were but if it was possible what you would have to do would be semi dangerous (for you and the device). if you want to take the chance then remove the battery (don't open the battery it self) then there should be some gold conecters that are on the battery and the nec there should be at least 2 conect the batterys to eachother and then to the conecters and hopefuly it will work (this is realy not that easy but you can try)

"My Handheld PC" and "Recycle Bin" icons disappeared

This problem is experienced after following performance suggestions found in third-party documentation, on web sites, or in newsgroups. These suggestions instruct users to remove all folders from the desktop of Handheld PC Pro device in order to speed screen-repaint rates. Applying these same steps on a Handheld PC 2000 device causes all desktop icons to disappear. Microsoft has documented this issue (in Q289674): http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q289/6/74.ASP To restore the My Handheld PC and Recycle Bin icons on the device, follow these steps: 1. Tap Start, tap Programs, and then tap Windows Explorer. 2. Tap the My Documents folder, tap Send To on the File menu, and then tap Desktop as Shortcut. 3. "Soft" reset the MobilePro. The My Handheld PC and Recycle Bin icons should return to the desktop. Note that you must have at least one folder or shortcut on the desktop in addition to the My Handheld PC and Recycle Bin icons, or else the problem will recur.

What software or cords do I need to get/run in order to get files to transfer to/from the NEC Mobilepro 770, or even get internet?

The NEC Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device that was released in the early 2000s and uses Windows CE as its operating system. Since the device is no longer supported, it may be challenging to find software and drivers that are compatible with modern operating systems like Windows 10. Here are some steps you can take to transfer files and connect to the internet:
  1. Get the necessary cables: You'll need a USB cable to connect the Mobilepro 770 to your Windows 10 PC. The cable should have a USB Type-A connector on one end and a mini-USB connector on the other.
  2. Install ActiveSync: ActiveSync is software that allows you to synchronize files between your Mobilepro 770 and your PC. Unfortunately, ActiveSync is no longer available for download from Microsoft, but you may be able to find an archived version of the software on the internet. Install ActiveSync on your Windows 10 PC and connect your Mobilepro 770 to your PC using the USB cable. If the device is recognized, you should be able to transfer files between the two devices.
  3. Connect to the internet: The Mobilepro 770 has a built-in Ethernet port that you can use to connect to a wired network. To connect to the internet, you'll need an Ethernet cable and a wired network connection. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Mobilepro 770's Ethernet port and the other end into your router or modem. You should be able to browse the internet using the Mobilepro 770's built-in web browser.
  4. Install additional software: The Mobilepro 770 comes with a basic set of software, but you may want to install additional software to make the device more useful. You can download and install software from the internet, but make sure it's compatible with Windows CE and the Mobilepro 770.
Keep in mind that the Mobilepro 770 is a legacy device, and its performance and capabilities may be limited compared to modern devices. It's also possible that some of the software and drivers you need may no longer be available or supported.

How to view files from old NEC versa 4050c. hard drive op-220-62005

They don't make them like that any more! The Service Manual lists it as a standard IDE drive. Your best bet is to take it to a local computer shop. They can remove the drive and add it to a test bench set up, then transfer all the data to a pen drive as the hard drive is only 2.1 Gb. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/366990/Nec-Versa-4000.html?page=42&term=hard+drive&selected=3#manual Or use the power supply from another old computer, as the connector plugs should be the same, 12 volt and 5 volt. Or get another on eBay NEC Versa 4050c 90mhz Pentium laptop off eBay for $25 shipped. It has a 2.1gb drive, 40mb of ram. It came with a docking station. https://www.google.com/search?q=NEC+versa+4050c https://www.google.com/search?q=nec+versa+4050c+transfer+data+to+pc ..

I have an NEC Multisync LCD4610-BK that I can't get sound output from. I'm trying to use it with a roku device that is plugged in via HMDI to DVI converter. How can i get sound?

DVI video cables don't carry audio. Thus you need to use an audio extractor or converter instead of just an HDMI to DVI adapter cable. Try something like this: https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Extractor-Converter-JTDAT5CH/dp/B00BIQER0E/ref=psdc_280341_t1_B01MQYTUAK . Then connect the HDMI to DVI cable to the HDMI out of the converter. Then the audio out to one of the audio connections on the LCD4610-BK. Note: this converter requires you to get the extra HDMI and audio cables separately. Depending on your ROKU device, you might need an HDMI (F to M) adapter to ensure that you aren't blocking other things on the front of the converter. Then set the monitor to the appropriate video and audio inputs separately. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells
