To view the images as larger thumnails, just open the image file go up to top where it says View, ckick on this an it should give you options. To change how the images are formatted right click an image go to properties, click on details? (I think) and click on the world Change or change file. Then choose wmf or quicktime or what ever! You could try formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format then it may simply be too high capacity. It is often difficult to find out the maximum capacity a camera will use, as today's memory cards are much larger that those available when the manuals for even recent cameras were written.

I do not see your camera model number or brand info in question but I think your camera is bit old one so that is why does not support such big memory card because camera hardware does not support it.
Use 2GB memory card in camera that will be accepted/ supported by camera hardware.
