Ink Cartridge removal
stop sending any command to your printer, just open the cover of it and it will move to the middle in order to remove your cartridge, if nothing happens just pull it back with hand, it will move freely..

I have m1217nfw is there convertor to power from 110v to 220v
I have worked on laserjets for years now and have never heard of a power convertor. The power supply will be a 110v device and if you want to use it in the uk you will need to replace it with a 220v one. I am unable to find a parts list for a laserjet M1217. However you must look for the C number which will be on a label. Note this and go to HP.com site and click on the parts link. Enter the c number and it should find what parts are available. If it does not find anything then HP will not supply parts but as its a laserjet there should be some available.

HP 1217 M1217 nfw MFP won't receive fax
Having the TAM set to four rings seems a bit high to me. Decrease the ring count on the Tam. the fax ring count does not really matter.
Keep your outgoing message to a minimum . if too long the calling machine will time out and drop off the line.
see how that goes. Also are you using the genuine adaptor lead. Does the tam actually ring? I suspect not. there are literally loads of adaptor leads that will fit and look the same but they are wired internally for that make only.
