Beverage-Air MT27 Beverage Cooler Commercial - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
MT27 has a noisy fan operation. Doesn't always
There are a couple of possibilities that could be causing this. I believe it is the fan blade. One could be that bracket that holds the fan motor in places could have loose screws, which would cause vibration. Another is that the mounting for the fan motor to the bracket could be loose. Another could be that the fan blade itself is slightly bent. Check the motor brackets screws, fan mounting screws and the blades. If all those are good, making sure the unit is unplugged you can turn the fan blade by hand slowly to see if it is dragging anywhere on the shroud around the coil or the coil itself. You could slightly bend the "clacking" blade to clear is that is the issue.

Fan runs constant
The fan is supposed to run constantly and they do get noisy. Take it out and go to grainger or a refrigeration supply house and they will match it up with a replacement. Its a very common part. Good luck and hope this helps.

How to add refrigerant to mt27
You should check the condenser to see that it is clean. Is the compressor running? If you have a leak, putting in gas wont help. You need to look for oil on the components around the compressor, inside the cooling coil housing. Hope this helps good luck.

Cooler keeps freezing product
You killed the messenger! The refrigerant charge is probably the problem. The thermostat senses the coil temperature and not the cabinet temperature. If somebody put gas in it, the gas has to be removed, a vacuum drawn on the system and then the refrigerant charge weighed in by the ounce. It takes a critical charge and needs to be weighed in by an accurate scale that weighs in ounces. Hope this helps and good luck.

What could cause the cooler to freeze other than a faulty thermostat?
Improper refrigerant charge. Its critical and measures coil temp and not cabinet temp. If you did add gas that is the answer. Take out all the gas, put vacuum pump on it, then weigh in exactly in ounces the correct charge, its listed on the spec. tag. Hope this helps and good luck.

What does the overload relay look like a
Normally thermal overloads have a button like appearance on the compressor. Designed to open circuit when temp has caused distortion to the bi-metal contacts. Upon cooling will close again. Disconnect power before checking continunity on the overload terminals.
