Clue here
following problems under warranty , I took mine in for repairs and found that the design fault did not allow for the section from the head to the canister blocking up which resulted in an over heated motor
The fix is a redesigned head that has a removable section that allows access up the suction tube to the canister for cleaning of the small tube section
indications are --doesn't appear to have enough suction
Talk with your hoover service agent and consider replacing the old head with the new model

Hoover vacuum UH72511 where is the brush sensor
The motor protection sensor can be triggered by an obstruction or something restricting the brush roll from turning freely. Make sure it can spin freely. If there is hair, dust or debris in the end caps of the brushroll it can restrict it from turning freely.

How do you replace a belt on a hoover preferred vacuum cleaner
Your Vacuum is from the Elite series, without your model number I can't be specific but to change the belt on most of them you need to remove the top cover by releasing two tabs underneath to allow the cover to flex so you can remove it. Stick a screwdriver in to move the cover out enough to be released. Remove the belt from the motor shaft, remove and clean or replace the brushroll. Put the new belt around the brush roll and insert it back into the vacuum. You need to stretch the belt enough to get it over the motor shaft. It’s difficult with a new belt because it will be so tight. I insert a big screwdriver through the belt and then put the end of the screwdriver on the motor shaft as a fulcrum to use screwdriver to stretch the belt far enough to go on the motor sxhaft.
