Camera is worn out or maybe batteries are dead

That means camera is set to "Auto" shooting mode.

Camera is from 2009 - too old to bother with repairs. Sorry.

Try a different memory card and format it in the camera

Do you really need a driver? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Sounds like you battery is dead.

Just look if any of the contacts is dirty or just a bit of dust is in the memory card slot. Look if all contacts are straight (also in the camera) and if they all are clean and shiny. Clean only with a dry cloth. Sure your cards switch is like on the 64 GB card in this picture?

Jus try the fuji site, for support. I managed to get new software for my Canon, last week. The only thing to get the software running on my MAC, was connecting my camera to the MAC, so the software could verify I connected a Canon camera. Could be your camera is still working, but some settings are messed up? You could have turned off the display. In the menu with IMAGE DISP. Is used to save battery power. Then try making pictures in the mode automatic. Because if you switched to scene like bright sunlight or snow your pictures can be very dark.
