Cannot connect to 192.168.0.1

How you connect to the router configuration page is depended upon how you have your router management configured. I believe by default belkin routers allow for remote configuration so if you didn't configure any security on your router someone may have altered your configuration. The default method for configuring your router requires.
  • An ethernet cable plugged from your computer to a LAN port on the router
  • The correct Gateway address (Start > Run > Type "CMD" at the command prompt type "ipconfig" look at your gateway address
  • In a web browser type in http://192.168.0.1 in this example
If you still can't access it I'd suggest pressing the reset button on the back of the router and re-configure the router in case of tampering.Comment if you need any further assistance

Lost codes

On the back of your router there is a reset button, hold it down for 3o seconds or so, this will reset the router back to factory settings, the default user name and password would be admin, note that sometimes with the belkin you only need the user name and not the password. Usually you need admin/admin though.

The default IP address to access the router when its reset is 192.168.2.1

Hope that helps

How do I open the

hi,
if you are wired as described there are no ports to open on your router. you are in the same vlan(IE:192.168.0.1/254) so no port routing is needed unless you are accessing them from the outside world which is what your router seperates you from.
however that means the systems can in theory talk to each other but you are now onto firewall rules of each system. effectivley only the mysql server need alllow inbound as outbound is usually not blocked. you can test if you are having a port issue by opening a command prompt and type telnet server_host 3306 (where server host is the ip or name of the server ) If you get a connection and some garbage characters, the port is open, If telnet hangs or the connection is refused, the port is blocked,
all that being said I would recommed you close any ports from the outside that don't absolutly need to be open.
GL
Hope this helps
please don't forget to give me a rating
Thanks

I have problems communicating with the Router

1. Try to RESET both the router and modem, by unplugging the power for about 30 seconds.
2. Recheck your connection after about 2 minutes.
3. If not ok, contact your ISP for your STATUS.

How can i map my

It's mapped automatically by your ISP, the real question is what are you trying to accomplish?
  • Are you looking to trying to run some type of service, host a web server, ftp etc?
  • Are you trying to enable a remote connection to a PC/server behind a nat router?
  • Are you wanting to configure a dynamic IP? (This maps a host name ex: myhomeserve.somedomain.com to your non static ip assigned by your ISP)

Please comment back so I can help you!

I have a belkin 54g

Hi Craig,

First I suggest you remove the second IP address as this is your public address most likely that should not be posted in the open online for all to see. That being said, have you attempted to perform a full reset on the router? This is performed by holding the small pinhead button on the back of the router down for about 30 seconds while plugged in. Once done you can set the router back up like you did when you first purchased it.

You can find the manual for your router as well as possible firmware updates on the following page. (Have your model # handy!)

How can I find my

If you're talking about your wireless network key: you can find this in the modem settings. Take a closer look at the manual to see on how you can visit your modem interface to view or change these settings. For most modems this involves connecting your PC using a network cable (just for the sole sake of looking up the key, don't worry) and the surfing to your router's IP address.

Not able to find wep

Hello,
If you require the WEP key for the wireless network you will have to log in to the router interface and retrieve it. You can try the following steps..
1) Open internet explorer on any computer connected wired to the router. ( IF no computer is connected then connect your laptop through an Ethernet cable to the LAN slot on the router) 2) Delete everything from the address bar and type http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter. 3) Towards the left side under wireless click on security. 4) Now it will ask for the login password, do not type anything..just hit enter. 5) Now you will be in wireless security page. You should see Key 1, Key 2, Key 3 and Key 4. The check mark selected on either of the four with number or numbers and letters in it are the password. Make a note of it. 6) Now connect to the wireless network using the keys u made a note of.
Hope this helped.
