Hi, First look if audio is turned off on Laptop. It's a volume icon on lower right or upper F buttons. Second look at audio plug on laptop Make sure not loose or broken inside. If all is good, might be software issue on laptop. Take to shop for repairs. Hope that helps.

Try re-installing the webcam driver from here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/uk/en/ukdhs1/Produc... (Click the "Drivers & Downloads" tab). If that doesn't fix it, and there are no driver errors showing in Device Manager (ie no question marks or exclamation marks) then it's very likely that the internal webcam has broken and Windows can no longer detect it. You can buy an external webcam to overcome that problem.

What operating system it is running on?

Unfortuneately you will need to go online, contact customer support and the technical department to order a new recovery disc for your make and model of laptop.

Have you tried restoring the computer to the original factory configuration? If you did not have the problem when you first received the laptop, the restoration will fix it. (Page 70 of the Setup Guide -- Factory Image Restore).

If the restoration fixes it, that means that some configuration change caused the problem, most likely an update. If you keep track of future updates you can discover which one triggers the problem when it recurs.

If the restoration does not fix it and the computer did not originally have the problem, that means that a hardware problem has developed.
