Simply remove the battery from this clip and reinstall a new 3vdc battery. Turn the computer off using the on/off button, then turn it on again while repeatedly tapping <F12> or <F1>. That should get you into OS setup. If that doesn't work, you will need a recovery disc or a new windows disc. Put the disc in the drive and start tapping <F12> or <F1>. The computer should give you the option to boot from CD.

If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on your wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.

3 Possible solutions.
1. Remove any media and USB attached items.

2. Reseat the hard drive if possible.

3. You need to go into BIOS by pressing an F key during boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key (F1 or F2). Make internal hard drive first. Save and restart.

Note - The hard drive must to be listed in BIOS, or there is no going forward.

Turn the computer off completely, and then turn it back on.
Press and hold the "Esc" key on the keyboard immediately after turning the computer on. After a moment, the computer will prompt you to press the "F1" key to enter the motherboard BIOS configuration utility.
Press the "F1" key when you see the prompt. The BIOS configuration utility will load.

Hi,

You will need to remove the Cmos battery to reset this pin.

Be very sure you're confident in doing this, as it'll require disassembling the laptop.

Thanks.

The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration. But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device.
TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE
You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector
http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle

Wire the pins as follows :-1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15
Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

Try accessing the BIOS screen when it boots up by pressing either the ESC or F1 keys repeatedly and there should be a password or supervisor password section where you can disable all the passwords.
