Change language from german to english
If everything is coming up German, you will have to do this by following the icons. Look for the symbol or figure out what the "Control Pnel" is and open it. Now look for the icon that shows the shape of the world with a clock next to it, this is the "Regional and Language settings". At the top of that window are 4 tabs, the first tab is "formats", in the first drop down menu, scroll down and find "English-United States", select it and hit apply, bottom right button. Now the next tab to the right is "Location", there is one drop down menu, scroll down and select "United States". The next tab to the right is "Keyboards and Languages", the first button at the top is "Change Keyboards", click on this and when the next window opens, click on the first drop down menu and select "English (United States)-US, below that are listed keyboards, you will see the keyboard "US", highlight and remove all others listed in this area. Now click the next tab in this same window, it is the "Language Bar", check the third circle down and uncheck all the boxes under that, click apply and ok to clear this window. Now click on the last tab in the original window, this is the "Administrative" tab. Depending on what operating system you have these buttons maybe in different areas, try to look at the words and see if they are close to ours, anyway in this last tab, look for the button marked "location" or "system locale", whan you click on this another window comes up click ok to apply these settings to all users, it will then show another drop down menu, choose "English (United States)", hit enter, the machine will need to reboot to apply the settings. Now remember depending on the operating system these settings can vary, this instruction is for windows 7, vista is close but with a few variances.
Make sure also to click on the time in the right lower task bar and make sure the time zone and time are correct, there are a lot of computers that were placed in service with German languages that also have Luxemburg as the time zone.
