Lowrance 3500 color map GPS

Not sure about these but try holding the on / off button in for about 30 seconds. The TOMTOM resets when you do this, maybe the 3500 does the same?

No, this means the internal memory size is 1 GB. If this unit accepts SD cards, you can increase the map capacity. 2GB SD cards should work properly in the unit.

Can't turn it off, it flickers and crackels.

You can't turn it off maybe the switch is faulty or the unit is freeze or hang .You can turn it off by taking off the power supply connected by unplugging it to the source.Flickers and crackels this the indication of cold solder.. A cold solder joint is where a lead of a component is not soldered at a high enough temperature and results in a bad electrical connection which can respond to physical shock and thermal stress.Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be cracked or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally connected . When the receiver unit turns on heat would be generated which would be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no longer provides electrical contact. A solder joint may also be broken or cracked because the receiver was dropped or hit. Look on the front and back of the board along the defective circuit to see any components that look like they are not soldered effectively or the solder connection is cracked or broken. A cold solder joint looks dull and/or bulging unlike the smooth and shiny normal solder joints. Its better you resolder all components parts joints of power supply circuit board and also inaudio section.Thats is the best solution for this kind of problem its proven of all electronic technician

I would like to help but I'm not sure I understand the question.

Are you saying that when you push the zoom in and zoom ou key at the same time you get a correct position, but you can't see a box that gives your real time position?

Is your map page set to show data on the right side of the screen? If not, press the page key and select the map/data page. This should give you some information on the screen which includes your current position, updated every second.

If I missed the mark with this answer, please give me some more details so I can help.
