My Toshiba Satellite p15-S470 Laptop
try accessing your bios on your laptop and change the date on it.
To access the bios just press F2 or F10 once you press the power button. Once you are inside of the bios locate the settings for date and time, then that's the time you can change and save it before you exit.
Hope it helps thanks.

Have a Toshiba Satellite M40 I'm trying to work on...
try holding f2 or f10 at boot, right when you turn it on, and hold it in until you get into bios or a boot selection screen. then you need to set the cd drive as the primary, only boot device for the time being

If the charger port is already loose and the battery doesnt accept charge anymore then you have to replace the motherboard of the laptop. Port cannot be replaced individually, you have to replace the whole part for this issue. You can contact the manufacturer of your system and if it is in warranty then they will replace it for you.Try to check the charger/ac adapter make sure no part is damaged aswell...cheers!!!

Toshiba satelite isn't recognizing that the
Have you tried using a different mic? If its a cheap mic It may have very well just quit working(or never worked).
Is it a new laptop? If not, any previous issues/problems?
"Apparently" the drivers are updated? "Apparently" isn't exactly a good term to use when it comes to something like drivers. Its either: Yes, they are or No, they are not. Make sure they are first.
To test if the mic is/isn't working go to Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices>Advanced Button(Bring up the Mixer)>Properties>Make sure Mic is checked in the list. Go back to the mixer, and un-mute the mic and slide the volume bar all the way if it isn't already. Now talk into the mic, is it playing threw the speakers? Yes? No?
From what you've provided I would guess its just a bad/broke mic. I'd suggest investing in something better, like a headset with the mic built in(as you'll probably need one at some point anyways).
