MXL 4000 Microphone Questions & Answers
Mxl 40000: When you plug it in it works for a split second and then volumn drops to almost zero.
Sounds like a weak or missing Phantom Power Supply. This power is supplied by the source "mixing console" and can be turned off on many models of consoles. If you have a smaller and lower end mixer it is possible it does not provide the needed Phantom Power. Also if the mic cable is incorrectly wired the Phantom Power is not being properly supplied to the mic. This also could damage the mic by putting the voltage on the wrong pin connections. Pin 1 is ground, pins 2 and 3 are audio high and low. Sorry I do know the exact connection for 2 and 3. The user/owners manual may supply the correct wiring information. A store bought cable of good quality should already be wired correctly.

Brand new 4000 does not work
Make sure the Phantom Power Supply is turned on and if it is then check your mic cable. If wired improperly the Phantom Power will not reach the microphone. If none of this helps, return it to where you purchased it or to a decent music shop and they can check it there. Have them check it while you are there so you can see if they do something you are not.

My marshall MXL V67 MIC doesn`t work
If this is a condenser micrphone it will require Phantom Power from the mixer you are trying to use it with. If Phantom Power is provided, check the cable to ensure proper wiring.

Is there a battery in a mxl 992?
Has it a remove able cover or on the plug? Normally it has the word "Electret condenser" on the body. Is it a lapel type ? Modern units are invariably of this type.

The sound is really low, it only works for 3
are u sure the type of mic ur using is made for phantom power? if it is. try opening up the gain on the sound board just a tad. if that doesnt work turn the master slider up. try other mics and see if it isnt ur soundboard or speakers

I just took my MXL
This microphone requires 48v Phantom power. So if you are trying to connect it to your computer, you will need to use a USB interface that will provide phantom power. If you are connecting it via a mixer, make sure Phantom power is switched on if it is available. As the MXL 3000 is only available new from Guitar Center or Musicians Friend, they can also provide you with what else you need.

Vocalizer 3 output checked cables and swapped out. 1300 watt power adaptor lights up. sound indicator light is on but no sound. tried mono and stereo. power adaptor problem?
If you've checked the cables, swapped them out, and ensured that the power adapter is providing power to the Vocalizer 3, but you're still not getting any sound output, there are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. **Check Volume Levels**: Ensure that the volume levels on the Vocalizer 3 and any connected devices (such as mixers, amplifiers, or speakers) are turned up and not muted.
2. **Test with Different Inputs/Outputs**: Try connecting the Vocalizer 3 to different inputs on your mixer, amplifier, or speakers, and test with different output devices if possible. This can help determine if the issue is specific to certain connections or devices.
3. **Inspect Settings**: Check the settings on the Vocalizer 3 to ensure that the correct input and output sources are selected. Make sure that any settings related to mono/stereo output are configured correctly.
4. **Test with Different Power Adapter**: If you have access to another power adapter with similar specifications, try using it to power the Vocalizer 3. This can help determine if the issue is related to the power adapter.
5. **Reset the Vocalizer 3**: Some electronic devices can benefit from a reset to their factory settings. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset on the Vocalizer 3, and try resetting it to see if it resolves the issue.
6. **Contact Technical Support**: If you've tried the above steps and are still experiencing issues with the Vocalizer 3, it's possible that there may be a hardware problem or malfunction. Contact the manufacturer's technical support for further assistance and troubleshooting guidance. They may be able to provide additional insights or recommend repairs if necessary.
By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the issue with the lack of sound output from your Vocalizer 3.
