Try installing the old XP drivers in windows 7 "compatibility mode" and tick "Windows XP R2".

What makes you think the scan is bad quality? How are you proofing it. Did you print in on a printing press or other CMYK device? The CMYK colorspace cannot be displayed on monitors without the program you are using converting it to RGB for display. Are you reading the actual CMYK values with the densitometer?

In my experience, with cheap scanners (under $75,000) it's best to scan to RGB and let Photoshop do the CMYK conversion. Just be sure to use the correct profile for your output intent.

Hi. I have a Mirage II A3 scanner that was working fine till I save it in a closet a few years ago. Now I need it again, but I don´t have the PC I used to have with ISA port... I finally found a brand new PCI card I had in another Umax scanner, so I connected it to the PCI slot in my actual PC. And I cannot connect the scanner... I installed the software correctly, but in Test mode, it gives me a Link failure. Besides, the scanner does its setup when powered on, the lamp goes from right to left, stays there a few seconds and return to its original position. But the UTA and READY lamps keep blinking... Could you please send me the software I need to connect it..? It´s really important I can do this. I have a huge job to do but it doesn´t work... I´l be waiting for your answer. THANKS!!

Only one termination should be powered in a SCSI chain. Generally, it should be the last device. It's been a long time since I've worked with SCSI, but I recall that scanners may be picky about where in a chain of multiple devices they are located; electrical noise on the SCSI data lines causes problems with the scanner electronics. I don't recall whether best results are found from locating it as the first device in line from the computer or the last device.
