Permanent warming up message
When you replace a power supply for this machine, it needs to be the correct power supply for this model. If you have the old one, check to make sure the right power supply was ordered for this specific model.
Because I cannot see the display, and we only know what it is saying, the next best thing would be to see if the fuser warmed up at all. Open the side door and gently feel the fuser frame to see if it is warm at all. Do not touch the Fuser roll; it is hot even to the slightest touch.
If it is not hot, make sure all the plugs were correctly plugged into the power supply.
On this problem there can be other factors that can cause warming up.
First, the fuser assembly may be defective and needs replacement.
Second the main board may be gone out.
And last if the machine has memory chips in the back, unplug the machine, remove the small cover from the back and unplug the simms chips and reseat them. Plug in the machine, then power it on.
See if the machine will go to a ready.
If not, possibly the fuser, or main board, or both. If the main board or(and) the fuser assembly is replaced,
MAKE SURE THE CORRECT PART IS INSTALLED IN THE MACHINE.
If all else fails, Place a Xerox Service Call on the machine before it gets too expensive in troubleshooting the problem with purchased parts.
What is the expected life of the M20i,
This is a very good machine. The self life for the machine depends on Xerox when they end the service life.
The Copy machine is like a car, as long as you keep up the repairs and replace the worn out parts, it will last for a long time.
What you have no control over is if the plastic starts to fall apart due to time. Especially in the main frames. Stress cracks on parts that cannot be replaced.
Otherwise it can go on for a very long time.
Good luck.
Where to find meter readings on workmate m20i
You have to press the machine status button.
Scroll to" reports"then to "billing meter."
Then press enter and it will print out the total pages printed/copied.
There is no meter per se on the M20. You have to print out the reading on the report.
Hello my problem is, when I print a excel
I would try loading a different print driver. There should be a PCL6, PCL5 and PS print driver available for that machine. I would think the PS driver would work better with excel
I get an SMTP error
That is not true i work as a IT Spec for the Kentucky Army National Guard and we have over 20 M20I series printers in which we have set up to scan to email. None of these printers are hooked up directly to the computer and they all have the ablity to scan to email. if you printer dose not seem to have the ability they you will probally just need to update the os. Here are the steps to get it set up.
- Connect the printer to the network
- Print a network config sheet
- use IE to connet to the web based interface useing the printers IP
- Click on the properties tab
- hit the little plus sign by connectivity
- do the same with protocols
- find and click on smtp server
- add ip address in the ip address and if your server requires athenticating type in the user name and password
- if for some reason the maxium message size has undefined then you will need to complete reset the printer or you will get an error it needs to have options that can be selected.
- now go to services
- then email settings
- select apropriate modes and the default from address
- if you want to set permissions to the device you can do so under user authintcation
- you can also set up the LAB and GAB
Note:
some web sites may not allow you to suer this function one alternitive is to set up a local smtp server on your network and create a mail box for yourself then you will just need to put your smtp server address in the instructions listed in step 8. I hope this helps.
I have a H3 error code on a xerox workcentre Pro
This should correct it.
NOTE: Some Status codes will not clear even though the problem has been fixed. Status codes that will not clear must be manually reset using the 'Fault Reset 14 Procedure'.
- Locate the [C] (Clear) button on the Control Panel, at the far right.
- Locate the Image Quality button, below the Auto on the Control Panel, toward the left side.
- Press the buttons in the following sequence within 4 seconds. Press [C] (Clear), press [Image Quality], press [C] (Clear) again, press [Image Quality] again.
- The error code should disappear. If the Status code does not clear, repeat step 3 until the status code clears; but no more than five times.
- Use the [10] and [1] buttons to enter 14 on the Display Screen, as if you were to make 14 copies.
- Press the [Start] button. The machine should be ready to use.
- Make a copy, to check that the machine is working properly.
I have a Xerox M20i
Hello, Jonathan.
If it's still set at factory defaults, then the default username is "admin" and
the default password is "1111".
Hope this helps.
The display says
Look under the scanner table, there is a (green if I remember well) sort of a slider with two positions, marked with a closed and open padlock. Slide it fully to the open position and you are good to go.
Paper jam
there are two main places to check for paper jams. The first is the paper tray, where you put the plain paper, remove this tray and reach to the back and say if there is any paper hanging down. The other main place is at the back. There should be a removable cover and if there is a jam there should be a sheet of paper behind here.
If you do find a piece at either of these places then pull the paper away from the printer, gently and slowly as if it rips it can make it really difficult to get the jam out.
Hope that helps and if not or you need further assisstance just ask.
Thanks
Hi. I have a Xerox
Is your phone line in the " line" jack and not the ext jack?
If the line is digital it will do that.
If the phone line voltage is low, the line current low that will also cause the problem.
In your fax settings. Is ECM turned ON.
Is Junk Fax OFF.
Secure Fax OFF.
Delay Fax OFF.
If your phone line is weak, it will cause that problem.
