Netgear FSM (and GSM) switches have an RS232 serial console port. Connect to that using Hyperterm, PuTTY, Xterm etc. at 9600-8-N-1, and power up the switch. Early in the boot process, it will give you a choice of normal operation, or the boot menu. Select the boot menu before the time runs out (usually a couple seconds), and one of the options will be to reset the switch configuration, including the password.
As far as I know, there is no way to recover the password and leave the configuration intact.
Any new additions to the router table? Since the two segments are probably outside of your subnet mask, each connection has to check the router table to figure out how to get there... so maybe the router table is getting super long, and it's timing out before it hits the right line. Could also be Is there a process that's occuring simultaneously that could be be taking a lot of bandwidth, such as online backups, etc.

Step 1:
Place the range extender in an area where the Wi-Fi signal of your router is strong, but near where you want to establish your extended network.

Plug in the power supply of the range extender and make sure that it is powered ON. Shortly, its light will begin to flash blue and orange.

Place your computer near the range extender. Also, make sure your computer is not wired to any other network devices.
Step 4:

Step 5:
Open a web browser, enter https://belkin.range into the Address bar, and follow the on-screen instructions. Don't forget to type "http".
