My usb was suddenly says used capacity 0 bytes,free 0 bytes,FILE SYSTEM raw.Cannot be formated.it says insert flash drive.give me the best solution

for usb drive with capacity above 4 GB , the most common problem is lost partition, for geeting the patition again you should create it manually with partition tools software like, acronis , magic partition or etc, that support to read usb partition. you could find it all within hiren's boot cd if you had one.

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red-white-green-black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts also click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or if you can see your usb drive but its not working ports(com&lpt)right click update driver or scroll to disk drives if you can see your drive + to expand right click you should see options to update driver,disable,uninstall scan for hardware changes. or select properties you should see options in the general tab to troubleshoot,policies,volumes,driver and details under the driver tab you will have the options to check the driver details,update driver,rollback driver or uninstall hope this helps don

This is probably a problem of system files on the USB key.

First of all, read the manual for the key, and verify that no utility provided with the key to reset or reformat. If such a utility is present, it is recommended that you used same before proceed to next step.

Otherwise, to reformat and therefore repair the USB key, you can use standard tools of Windows. Insert the key into the USB port of a PC, then go to:

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management / Storage / Disk Management /

Select the drive to the USB key in but ensure same is not a hard disk system!

Once the back up of your USB key effected, delete the existing partitions on the key (right click / delete the partition.). Format the key to FAT16 using all the available space (right-click / Format). For more than 2GB, it is recommended that you format same as FAT32.


If the available space is under the capacity of the key, this is surely a hardware problem, in which case it may be necessary to reduce the after-sales service.

It should be noted however that a difference of about 10% should not be considered, prior the way the manufacturer has recorded bytes. To be more appropriate, as a manufacturer considers that a Megabyte equals 1 million bytes or 1024 * 1024 bytes, a key of 512 MB can display 512 000 000 bytes or 488 481 250 bytes.

NB use server 2 for download. Server1 requires password.

you should not need any drivers. just plug the card reader in an available usb port on your pc and you will be ready to go.

The solution was that the SmartMedia card I was using seems to have been corrupted. It works perfectly well in my device to record music, but cannot be read through either of my computers. However, another SmartMedia Card does work and I have been able to download files, so it must be the card. The manufacturer of the MRS-4 recording device, ZOOM, say that they know of no way to repair the corrupted card.

Sounds like you may have removed it from sytem without ejecting first and this has caused a mini surge. You can try taking it to a reputable computer shop that specialises in data recovery but there is a good chance the device has had its day.

You need to reinstall the USB drivers from the motherboard CD(the one you got with your PC)

If Windows (you didn't say), try using Disk Cleanup from Accessories > System Tools. There could also be hidden files on it. In Control Panel > Folder Options > View click the box for "Show hidden files"

go right to their website and download the appropriate driver/software and install it from your computer instead of the cd. incidentally, remove the cd from the drive and inspect the working side... the shiny side and see if it has any smudges or scratches. the cd player may not be able to read it.
it's not mentioned but is that a pc or mac and what operating system are you using ?
