Why does my supermicro 6024h keeps restarting when starting up? What's true is that it's kinda hot in my room, being all summer.

The link below will take you to the page where you can progress to downloading the manual for this machine. http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/2U/6024/SYS-6024H-32.cfm Click on the "manuals" link and a new page will open with supermicro T & Cs which you must accept by clicking the relevant button at the bottom of document which you need to scroll through. As soon as you click on this the manual will download and all the relevant information you need is in Chapter 7, which starts on page 71 of the pdf document. If you continue to be unable to get into the BIOS you may need to reconfigure your SCSI setup from the SCSI management console, or even disconnect items from the computer one by one to find out if any are faulty. This boot cycling can often be caused by faulty hardware - especially the boot disk. Good luck

Intel d915GLVG mother board vrm is short and fun dose not work

An electrolytic capacitor has failed. If one has failed it indicates that the board has overheated, and many other components are also weak. This Intel board is not of good quality. Replace with SuperMicro or Tyan, and improve the cooling airflow in the case.

Post code 38

"The BIOS can not shadow the ROM into system memory." This is usually caused by the ROM on a card trying to use the same memory space. Remember all of the ROMs have only the memory addresses from C800 to FFFF in the first megabyte available for shadow. This was designed in in the first IBM PC and remains to this day. Remove the other cards, and turn off both system ROM shadow, and video ROM shadow.

If you are good with a soldering iron the capacitors can be replaced. Make sure you can wick the excess solder out of the holes. Replace only with Japanese capacitors, and increase the airflow in the case and around the capacitor. This is usually a sign of overheating.
