Can you come into the menus? Just to check you did not change anything? Sometimes the monitor or display stays black in record mode, because the camera was put in power save mode. In the manual you can find hoe to switch it on again. Has to do, with what you want to see during record mode. Just the image, image with info, sometimes with a grid and then display off.

I am not familiar with this particular camera, but I can tell you how this works with other cameras.

The camera's memory should appear as a disk drive in "My Computer" (Windows) when you connect it to the computer with a USB lead, just as the memory card does. BUT you have to remove the memory card from the camera first, or you will only see the contents of the memory card.

Did you format the card first within the camera ?
If so, i would say you have bad sectors on this card.

Internal video out connection may be bad, try using the provided cable to connect to TV and disconnecting to see if it returns to normal.

You might have changed the settings; ISO setting too high or something else, just reset it to factory settings if you can't figure out ISO.

havnt got a solution just the same problem. help.

You did insert a SD card? not a SDHC card. And before you did, you checked if the card was unlocked? (little switch on the left side should be up towards the golden contacts on the back side.

I don't know why this same question keeps coming up ? it has been answered.

If the marks do not show up on your photos then there is a problem with the LCD or circuit.

I have had the same problem. Here where I live is a renouned camera repairman. I took it to him and received the bad news. He said the "frame" was bent , and it could not be repaired. It needed to be replaced. I am really suspicions yours may be also. We here at "fixya" have no prices or parts for anything. We are only a consulting group of people. God bless your efforts.

Unless you have a lens collimator and other equipment to ensure proper alignment when you reassemble the lens, don't even think about taking the lens apart. Take the lens to a reputable camera shop and let a qualified and properly equipped tech handle the cleaning.
