Yes you can. If you have a satellite receiver or a cable box, that remote will probably control your tv. If your source components don't have a remote either, than you will have to buy a universal but be sure to check that it is compatible with your Jensen TV.

if it works everything else then it could just be the the button is broken, I would go get a cheap univrsal remote and it will do the trick. The factory replacment remote will cost way to much

turn off hold down display button and turn on untill the lock dissapears it is the same as a jensen Q2749J TV hope this helps someone [email protected]

Philips and Magnavox:
Philips sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for Philip sets is 0711, although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time to trick you. If "Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again. To use it hit the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow" key on the remote. Enter the override code, and enter it a second time if it says it is incorrect.

The controls are locked. Try holding the Display button on the remote for a few seconds.

your TV is having a power problem. Its receiving power but it cannot transfer the current to the necessary part because a capacitor, diode, etc must have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the TV might not come on.

If you know about TV repairers, I would suggest that you open the TV and read the power part/panel with a meter, detect the bad component and replace it. Take note that TV stores a lot of current that can shock, so leave the TV for a while before you open it.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you.

I will need the model number please.
1. check the remote control batteries. they may be weak.
Replace them.
I am not sure as to what Blue light you are referring to. I will need the model number to further assist you.

I accidentally put on the parental control- to get it off, just hold the display key for about 3 seconds and it should unlock.

Go into the closed caption settings and turn it off.

check the antena wire if it plug to your tv,

we the same problem, our tv went blue with a blue pad lock in the upper left had corner.. we couldnt figure out how to get it off.. we even went to go and price tvs today... after looking for the tv manual and not being able to locate it, we decided to google jensen tvs and came up with this site... so thanks whom ever you are who said to hold down the display for 5 seconds and our tv was back!! thanks to whom ever u are with the last 2 suggestions!!!
