Can card slot damage memory card?

They can but there is an inherent issue with those cards. They are RAM memory and can be easily damaged by a lot of things. Static electricity is one downfall of them.

Samsung PL55 is not connecting to the computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Hi. Got an Samsung PL55

Hello

Thank you for using FIXYA!!!

This is a suggestion. If you do not feel comfortable trying it, you will need to take the unit to your nearest service centre. Feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

The problem might be that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

Do you really need a driver? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo management program.

Samsung ES80 Digital Camera. It is not charging and the red light is not flashing.

The battery has probably failed due to lack of use and regular charging Remove the battery and check it with a multimeter. To see the camera on your laptop you would normally need the software and drivers for it. My Samsung Es90 digital camera's shutter is not working, plus, the batteries are fully charged but when inserted, it only last 2-3 minutes. What can I do to resolve this?

I'm assuming by "shutter" you're referring to the one inside the camera and not the cover blades on the very front of the lens. How old is the battery and do you use the camera a lot? Old batteries can be fully charged but can become weak and not hold that charge when the camera is powered on. The shutter issue could be part of this as the battery might not be strong enough to power the shutter. I think the batteries for these cameras are reasonably cheap so you could invest in a new one to see if that helps. An extra battery is always useful if you use the camera a lot. If this is an old, well used camera part do wear out so if new battery doesn't help you may need to take it to a good repairer as the camera will need to be taken apart to find the problem.

Samsung vp-d361, can't detach the battery.

The battery has probably swollen, they do when left flat for a long period of time. Brute force is all you can use and hope you don't destroy the fixings.

Samsung Digimax 301 will not turn on only green light flashes

  1. Check battery polarity: Ensure that you have inserted the AA batteries correctly, aligning the positive (+) and negative (-) ends as indicated by the camera's battery compartment. Improper battery placement can prevent the camera from powering on.
  2. Clean battery contacts: Over time, battery contacts can accumulate dirt or corrosion, hindering proper electrical connections. Use a clean, dry cloth or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to gently clean the battery contacts inside the camera's battery compartment. Make sure to let the contacts dry before reinserting the batteries.
  3. Replace batteries: Even though you inserted fresh AA batteries, it's possible that they may not have sufficient power to operate the camera. Try using a different set of new batteries or fully charged rechargeable batteries to eliminate the possibility of a power issue.
  4. Reset camera settings: Some cameras have a reset option that restores the default settings, which can help resolve certain issues. Look for a small reset button or a menu option within the camera's settings to perform a reset. Refer to the camera's user manual for specific instructions on how to reset your Samsung Digimax 301 model.
  5. Firmware update: If your camera has an outdated firmware version, it may cause compatibility issues or malfunctions. Check the Samsung website or contact their support to see if there are any firmware updates available for your camera model. Follow the provided instructions to update the firmware if necessary.
