20 Most Recent Panasonic CT-36HX42 36" TV Questions & Answers

If the TV shows absolutely NO sign of ANY life when turned on at the front on/off switch, chances are the switchmode power supply has a short-circuit or is blown due to a surge; it wouldn't just be a fuse. Many parts could be affected and would need to be replaced here.

If you have no standby LED on the front at all, the first line of attack would be the SMPS, and progress from there.

Very complex to those unfamiliar with circuits like these, and could be uneconomical to repair.

If you have doubts, take it to an authorised service centre, and get a FREE quote for the likely cost of repairs, parts/labour etc., then make a decision afterwards as to whether or not you want to pursue it.

If the fault is confined to the power supply, this may not be so expensive to repair as opposed to the line output or vertical stages, but get the free quote from a service agent first.

This is a standard NTSC set that can only receive cable channels up to 113. Since you don't specify what digital channels you are trying to receive, I'm not sure I have completely answered your question. If not, please provide more info about what channels you are trying to get and I'll try to respond.

Thanks,
Dan
