Either the Laser Picku Unit or its Strip Wire connected from it to the main board has damaged. Just replace the strip sire first. If it helps you it is OK. If not Laser Pickup Unit needs replacement. Replce it with same type and number. OK.

Please check the lens, spinning / drive motor and fuse for malfunction and replace if necessary

You have a Laser Pickup Assembly problem, the pladder motor that the dvd sits on is not working properly and is not cost effective to repair the unit.

Please try to put in an ordinary audio CD track and see if this is detected. If yes the optical is working, if not there is no laser scanning and the possibility of the head being faulty is high.
Now certain cleaner disks are not read and so will not be tracked. Hence the rejection but the best is for cleaning manually the laser head eye with a cotton bud very softly and without any pressing of the lens eye.
If there is still no result then watch the CD if it spins or tries to spin. If the head unit moves up or down to focus or in and out of the drive, if so the board seems to work correctly and the possibility of the optical head being the suspected fault is closer.

It sounds player get reset for some reason and most possible reason is power supply stops momentarily caused reset dvd player. If you have knowledge about electronics stuff repair then check main/ big capacitor of power supply board and replace it if found leaky to fix the issue or take it in local tv repair shop for that.

The reason your dvd player is not reading disc is simply because the lens is either weak or dirty.

Try to use a lens cleaner first to see what happens, if it does not read disc still, then you have to go for total replacement of the lens of the player.

Get a replacement lens, open up the player, try to locate the lens and replace it with the new one. Couple it back together and your player will work perfectly fine again.

Take care

Try using a cleaning disk for the laser eye. This is a special dvd with a brush grafted on it to clean off thedoirt on the laser. Hired DVD;s are often covered in greasy finger marks and other debris which gets transferred to the iris as the disk spins. this eventually clogs the laser and it can no longer do a load and often reports no disk.

Most DVD players made since 1999 are .JPG compatible.
Create your DVD in the computer, without folders...just drag & drop the pic files to the disk for burning, and insure the burner is set to "Finalize" the disk just like making any movie disk.
Your DVD player will recognize the files, and play them in slideshow format.
