My tv dosent turn on
Hi there,
Well this is a overcurrent/overvoltage situation. Either the +V line is shorted or overloaded. In the A board check IC504. Also check the B and M boards. If you want to repair it yourself then you should be having proper knowledge about the internal circuitry of the TV.
You should also require a multimeter and soldering equipments and schematics..... Sony says six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
Please post comments for more help or information.........
Good Luck!!
Thanks

What is a video IC and how do i replace it?
A video IC (integrated circuit) is one of the many parts in your TV. As the name implies, it's one of the parts that does video processing. Any IC is physically a plastic package with metal leads that connect to the circuit board. Replacement involves removing the solder from those connections and taking the old part out, then soldering the new one in. Depending on the package style and location in the set, this can range from very easy to darn near impossible without specialized equipment.
I gather from the way you've asked your question, though, that you should probably not be trying to repair a TV yourself. Without some training in electronics, troubleshooting techniques, the proper tools and some experience, TV servicing can be hazardous to you as well as possibly causing more damage to the set. I would advise you to leave the repairs to a professional servicer. If you want to keep the TV it would be money well spent.

How long will my sony trinitron last, it's a 2003?
I cannot guarantee how long yours may last, but mine has lasted since 1993 so far, so good. The only problem was the tuner module started going (approx. $100 to replace). By using a cable box or a VCR with a built in tuner it bypassed the problem. Otherwise it has been a great TV. I hope this helps and good luck.

Sound goes off and on
Hi
Please try to reset the TV to factory defaults by following these step by step instructions:
- Turn on the television.
- On the TV remote control, press and hold either the RESET or UP ARROW button.
- While holding the RESET or UP ARROW button, press and release the POWER button on the front of the TV.
NOTE: The TV will turn off and then back on.
- Release the RESET or UP ARROW button.
If your remote control does not have a RESET button or the procedure did not reset the TV to the factory default settings, then follow this for power reset:
- Turn off the television, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
- Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
- Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
- Turn on the television.
If still there is no sound then you need to check the connections at the back i.e. from TV to Speakers. If still you face the same issue then it’s the power transistor/transformer that has gone bad and needs to be replaced. If you have electrical expertise and know how to solder and desolder components then you can do it yourself, if not then you need to contact a qualified repair technician.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks

Hi,
The blinking LEDs indicates that the built-in protection
circuitry has detected a fault and in order to prevent further damages
stops the unit from energizing/powering on. Often 7 blinks indicate
probable area where to start diagnosis/checks. In your case, this would
be:
- "High Voltage Shutdown. The high voltage has
exceeded 33K and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check
power supply regulation and horizontal circuits."
This of
course would require a fair familiarity of electronic
components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a
soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service
manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.
Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps
your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified
professional or claim warranty repairs. Depending on the hardware faults, your location, prevailing service fees in your area, repair cost could be anywhere from 100 to 500 USD (wild guess).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
