first,check the fuse if it's busted.replace it and power it up.if it gets busted again,maybe theres a short in the power regulator.if you have experience in troubleshooting,try to fix it.but if no,bring it to a service center neer you and let them do the job.you might get electricuted by the capacitors inside.those are charged w big amount of current and can cause shock.u

maybe the vertical ic is defective.resolder it first if you have experience.then power it on.post back if theres no outcome.u

resolder all cracked solders on the jungle ic.do you have any experience in electronics?

You need to replace its Picture Tube (CRT). Its CRT's defect.

Do you get sound when you play a dvd thru audio/video inputs?
If this unit has audio output at the back run audio to amp and see if you have audio thru your stereo

Try to finde lose connection/ cold solder joint at board attached at end of picture tube. It seems heater/ filament voltage not being supplied to picture tube after a while and picture goes to black.

chassis has to be removed and tv/video switch has to be replaced; push button switch.

Offhand no, conventional US TVs are designed to operate on NTSC whereas to my knowledge, Argentina uses PAL.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Id you have no TV repair experience, play it safe and take the set into an authorized Sony repair place to estimate the cost to repair. Yes I know it would be nice to repair, but how much do you know about component level printed circuit board repair? You will need to first get a service manual, know how to read a circuit diagram, thats a schematic, and know how every circuit works with each other to make the TV set operate. I do appriciate the fact you would like to repair this yourself, but there is no magic fix in most cases when it comes to electronics. There is circuit diagnosise involved. Best advice would be to call in a pro to assist you in these types of repairs. Good Luck

Sometime when the red ligth blink there is a problem in the system inside the tv. I suggest to fix it by a repairman tech.

It only 1 bar in the middle horizontal? They Call it Vertical Line, sometime looseboard, defectiveVertical IC, Leak capacitor in vertical section. need a Repairman Tech.

Your tv has Leak cap in POWER supply its either primary or secondary power. Need to replace it. Look for a Electronic Tech.

Dont plug it on your tv the FLYBACK of your tv was defective. Need to replace your flyback or else more parts inside was damage. Bring your tv to a Electronic tech.

how long have you had your tv, and what i had found out is that after replacing the power supply board my tv went out a second time but i had gotten a warranty and then another power supply board was replaced and it would not come on, for 2-3days, so everyday i would just keep on pluggin it up and one day it came back on and i havent turned the tv off yet, what i was told by the tv repair man was that i needed a picure tube, and he said sony knows these tv has alot of problems, i tried contacting sony but was given the run around, i just wont by sony products anymore as they dont stand behind there product

try to disconnect your power inlet cable 110v within 5mn to make a big reset and restart your tv and reconfigure all
