Hello,

If you can fix it by yourself, there is a problem in horizontal circuit panel, you need to check that in series because the part appear visbly good but when tested by the exact tester you register busted. that should be replaced immediately. Check also the vertical panel parts of the circuit. but if hard you do the job you may consult the service center of your TV or the vendor of the TV.

ps. please don't rate me if you are not convince of my suggestion.

best regards, melnavz

OH NO!~!!! It sounds like you broke the display panel. You may be able to replace it or have it replaced but most likly it will cost more then it is worth. Inside on one of the edges is a number. Get it and look up LCD displays on the net as there are only a few major supplyers of LCD panels, and I had a freind get on for 1/3 the price that sony was asking for, and everything plugs into the display or has ribbon cables and need no alighnment after works. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.

You have this backwards. The applicable code would be in the URC, if it is compatible.

if possible. reinstall your vcr code in your existing remote.
consider using another remote [ set to your vcrs code ] -- remotes sometimes low cost at dollar / thrift stores.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.

This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; to which you want set-up codes; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window" to get gathered related posts.
{View the site in web view by Mobile or a desktop to see the search box. Mobile view has no search box.}

It will be difficult to make a Blu-ray player region free. Anyway, visit these sites, and see whether there is any information about this.

Hi Laurence, from what you describe, it would look like a power supply failure, like you say a loose solder
I recommend that you be careful with the manipulation of the source plate, since there may be loads in the capacitors
When you remove the back cover, locate the plate of the power supply and look for the input capacitor (s), to discharge them, then carefully check the solders that may be loose or cracked
Also note the low voltage capacitors, those on the secondary side of the source, that are not swollen or with the top open
After reviewing and resolving the source components, reassemble and test
In some models, you also have on the Main board, small subfuentes, try to locate and review them
If after doing all this, you do not have positive results, look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem
