Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60WF655 60" Rear Projection HDTV Questions & Answers
REPLACING TOSHIBA THERMAL FUSES
Not sure if this model had this issue but some did--first is the fuse on the lamp housing or not--we have both a Sony listed here and a Toshiba--so tell me which and why you thing the thermal fuse is gone?
Getting an error code 5 flashes tv power
I would have to check but that may and is likely the thermal fuse from the lamp to the power supply-----common issue and Sony was replacing them with a different one.The simple test (for me) is with rear cover off look at the plastic housing for the lamp---the fuse is there but hard to see---two wires wind up and under that and enter the main wire harness going to the left (as seen from rear)--if can follow them about the middle of the set in back they connect to a 2 pin plug----with plug unsnapped read across the two wires going back to lamp housing---no reading across them and the fuse is gone. The replacement is different looking. What if I find this I have been known to do is jump the plug on the side going to the power supply(not the lamp side) just to see if set will now work-----not seen one where there was a short but just a poorly designed fuse.
Multiple blue spots on the sony Grand WEGA KDF-60655 60in TV
Indicates for model shown a bad optical light engine---check with Sony as several models this is covered even if the set is out of warranty (CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS GOT THIS).It is the most expensive part in the set not even of course counting labor to replace it.
Power light is green than goes red
Hi beinhauert,The symptoms you've mentioned indicated that the unit turned to standby mode. This is an indication that there's something wrong on the TV. To help us narrow down where the fault came from, please access the built in "Self diagnostic Screen". Follow the steps below. In standby mode (red light is on), press the button on the remote control in sequence "Display", "5", "Volume (-)", "Power". Self diagnostic screen's displays its log of error. Please let me know the error code with corresponding numerical value "1" means error has been detected, "0" means no error.Jdvillanueva
