Everything sets up perfectly,it's only

Hi thesignking1,

Have you tried resetting the machine? If not, please hold the power and ready for about 5 - 10 seconds, release the power then release the ready and press the ready again. Here are additional troubleshooting that you may apply to correct this issue.

1. Try to remove the cover and look for broken parts. Please check if there are missing teeth on the gears.

2. Try to uninstall and reinstall the driver. If you don't have the driver, you can get them by joining the alps and alpsdecal groups at http://groups.yahoo.com. They are in the Files section of one of the groups.

3. Try to disable the anti-curl function by doing the following process:
--> click [file] then print
--> Click the Properties button in the dialogue that opens.
--> Check the checkbox labelled "Print on backside" in the Media Type box of the properties dialogue.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

HOW DO i GET ALL LITTLE BITS OF PAPER OUT FROM

If you remove the cover to the printer, you will have better access to the rollers. Once the cover is off, you can use tweezers to remove the paper.

Power won't turn on

I had a similar problem to this. It turned out that the button on the main circuit board was broken. Take the cover off the printer and look at the main circuit board for any damage. I replaced the broken button and the printer turned on right away. Another option you can try is to replace the entire board if you can find a "parts" printer on ebay.

I want to print metallic gold and gold-foil TITLES

Create a mask or layer for each spot color you want to print using only black. When printing spot colors anything on the mask in black will be printed in the spot color. For foils, print a couple of layers of black ink before you print the foil to get a very good effect. Remember to check the overlay option so the paper doesn't get ejected.

PRINTING SMALL LINES

If the lines are horizontal, it might be a bad print head. If the lines are vertical is could be a dirty print head. In any case, try a good cleaning as outlined in the user guide.

I have two alps 5000

Hey Bill I have quite a bit of experience with the MD 500 a may be able to help. There are a lot of possibilities here so lets start at step 1. First tell me a little about the configuration your using. I need to know the following:
1. What computer your using (exact model #) 2. Your current operating system and the latest service pack('s) you installed. 3. The type of printer cable you're using and any drivers you installed for that cable. 4. Nature of problem ( won't turn on, won't print test page, not recognized by computer, etc...)
It would be best to just email me directly at [email protected]

PLEASE HELP! Error Light blinks when powered up!

Inyadrms, Did the printer get hit or bumped around while in storage? The motor and alignment errors are bad. If you are mechanically inclined, remove the cover and look for broken parts or missing teeth on the gears. While you have the cover off, give it a good dusting

these printers are flaky. There is a reason why the mainstream never picked ALPS up. The image quality stinks and the printer break down constantly. Koolaid drinkers in search of the grail love them.

ALPS 5000

Cartridge changer error can be bad. Inspect and clean the changer. Try changing the order of the cartridges in the holder. Any effect? With just the black cartridge installed, try printing an internal self print test. Does that work?
