Sony MHC-GX450 CD Shelf System - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Red light flashing
What you need to do is clean and reseat the (widest) white ribbon connector that connects the front panel to the large circuit board on the side. To get to the connector, you'll have to take off the sides and the top, and then unscrew the cd tray so you can lift it up and get your arm and hand in far enough to reach the connector from the opposite side. Then unplug the ribbon cable, blow the connector out with some compressed air, and plug it back in firmly .Also check if the internal fuse is blown.
Why do my sony mhc-gx450 cd shelf system power
This usually indicates faulty wiring, or miswiring. Disconnect the wires, one set and turn the unit off and on to see if that elimates your problem. If it does, the wiring or component is at fault. If you disconnect everything and have the same problem, it's an internal fault with the unit and will have to be troubleshot. Get and estimate first, to evaluate whether or not it's economical to keep, or replace with a new one. Good luck, hope this helps.

Whats a control jack on a sony SS-WG450
That subwoofer is included in the MHC-GX450 system. I have the amp/CD/radio unit. but not the subwoofer. The control cable connects the LED on the Sub to the main unit. When the main unit detects this connection to the LED it switches on its internal subwoofer amp to drive the subwoofer.Does the JVC receiver use a "control" circuit through its external subwoofer unit to signal that it is connected to the subwoofer? If not, you do not need to use the control jack on the SS-WG450 to connect to the JVC receiver. Connecting the Sony subwoofer to a subwoofer output on the JVC unit may be enough. Do check the impedance required by your JVC receiver. Sony lists the SS-WG450 as having a Nominal impedance of 6 Ohms. Is this high enough for the JVC unit?
